The Decembers

Chapter 27

    My sister and I were once again waiting in the hallway of Piece home. I was excited when Paisley told me the news of Cyrus wanting to speak on our behalf. I wonder what made him want to. Paisley must have told him something very important. I'm not saying he wouldn't have spoken to Pierce, but it seems like whenever Pierce makes up his mind, he sticks to it and Cyrus knows that.

    Just waiting here in the hallway is driving me crazy. I needed to know everything that Cyrus is telling Pierce. I mean what was his plan. Did he had an idea to change Pierce mind? I sat down next to Paisley on one of the chairs next to her in the hallway. She too was impatience just like me. This reminds me when the foster care system would make us wait together seeing which foster family, they would put us with. I never thought I would experience that type of feeling here in Rave. I know this is different but still.

    Timmy shows up holding some bread with a bottle of milk. He must be worried for us. Everyone knows now that Pierce wants to send us back home to earth. I ask Timmy what he was doing here. "I thought the both of you might be hungry. I brought some bread and milk. I mean after all I didn't see the both of you this morning for breakfast."

    Paisley and I thank him for the bread and milk. He sat down on the floor in front of us. He pulled the bread out and rip it into three small pieces with his hand. We were all drinking from the bottle of milk passing it around to each other while eating the bread he got for us. You can tell the bread was fresh out of the oven. It was nice and warm. Normally, I do not like to eat when I am nervous, but I haven't eaten anything since last night when Paisley told me Cyrus was going to talk to Pierce.

    After we finish the bread and milk, we all stood silence for a while. I knew Paisley and I were thinking the same thing. We were thinking about Timmy's twin brother Jimmy and how he let us go but we wonder if he was a part of the plan for wanting to kidnap Storm. He did say his mission was to look for Cyrus and Storm and did not have time for us. I wanted to know the relationship between Timmy and his brother. I end up telling Timmy about our time in Night Kingdom and how we saw his brother and how he let us go.

   "Wow, I can't believe Jimmy just let you go that easy. When we use to live with each other, he would always bully me and made me do things that I did not want to do. Now that he is a moon twin, he probably hates the idea of having to follow orders, especially from Nora."

    I wanted to also tell Timmy that his brother asks for him and that you can tell his brother was concern about him, but Paisley beat me to it first. "Timmy, when West and I saw your brother. He asks us about you and how you were doing. That says a lot if you ask me. I really don't think he likes being a moon twin."

   After Paisley said that Timmy took a deep breath. "None of us twins don't want to be a moon twin or a sun twin. We all just want to be normal and be able to live out the rest of our lives in piece, but the twins before us did not or neither the twins before them. No pair of twins made it out alive together."

   Realizing what he had just said, Timmy apologizes to us. He knows that Paisley and I want to be the first set of twins to live. You can tell he wish he can take everything back with what he had just said. At the same time though he was right. What made my sister and I any different from the other twins is we are willing to try to fight our destiny. I mean look at Iris and Cyrus. They try escaping but got caught while doing so. Now they cannot stand one another. I refuse to have me and Paisley to end up like them but what if we do. No! I cannot think like that. We will not be like any of the other set of twins. I can never let us get to the point where we become enemies.
