The Decembers

Chapter 44

    Where here and have already landed the ship. I feel nervous and scared at the same time but don't one no one to know that I was feeling this way. I mean I am sure I'm not the only one that could be having this feeling. I look around the ship and I can tell everyone is ready. Especially Cyrus it is like he was born to do these types of missions.

    Avery comes up to me and gives me a huge hug. She leans in and whispers in my ear saying good luck and be careful. I hug her back as tight as I can. I know she's worried about me and she's not able to be by my side when I need her, but I need to learn how to count on myself when no none is around to save me. I want to be the person who helps save people whenever they need help. So, I told myself starting today I am going to start being that person.

   All the sun twins are ready to act like their siblings. Cyrus is ready to do his part as night guard and so am I as handmaid. We split up from the protectors and the ship. Cyrus reminds them about the three hours. With that said we were off to Night Kingdom front gate.

   Were already close to the Kingdom. I can already see the lights from where we were at. The wall is as tall as Bright Kingdom as well. The last time we were here, Iris took us the back way straight to Nora castle, only Iris knew that back way. Cyrus stops us all and steps in front of us. You can tell he wanted to say a few words before we step any further.

  "I need everyone to know that tonight might not go as the way we wanted to go but at least we tried our best. Now let us do this thing."

    We all roar with excitement but not as loud. We didn't want any of the guards to hear us. Cyrus put his night guard mask shield on and as for me I didn't have a mask, but I was wearing a hat and the way I was dress did not made me look like myself at all. I mean that was the purpose of the costume anyway. I just hope the Night Guards believe every word we say.

    We have arrived in front of the gate. Its close and two guards are standing on the other side of it. They look us up and down. The one on the left walks up to the gate and looks straight at Greyson. You can tell that guard was going to ask him a question.

    "Mason, what are you and the other moon twins doing out of the Kingdom. I don't remember any word of all of you being outside this late at Night."

    Good. We were off to a great start. He believes Greyson is his twin brother Mason. He also believes the others are their twins as well. Or else he wouldn't have call them the moon twins.

    "We came out to practice on some skills of ours. Nora wanted us to start practicing some more on our fighting in case if we ever get attack by our losers of twin's siblings. That is why she assigns us a guard and a handmaid to attend to our needs. Sorry if we return too late, time just went by so fast."

    After Greyson said that. The guard look at me and Cyrus. Greyson did great when and it came to acting like his brother. For a second there I believe he was his brother Mason, but now it's my and Cyrus turn to convince this guard to let us in the Kingdom without looking suspicious. I realize the guard started looking straight at me. What if he recognizes me? I was starting to think I should not have come after all. Right when the guard was about to say something to me, Cyrus pushes me with his arm, which cause my whole body to land on the ground.

    "Don't just lay their maid, get back up and greet the night guards with your present. My apologies she is still new as a handmaid."

    I could not believe Cyrus just push me to the ground. I mean I now understand why he did it. So that way the guard would stop focusing on my face before he recognizes who I was, but still, he kind of push a little too hard.
