Zee filled a teapot with hot water and went back to the table. He poured some tea for Nunew as Nu was telling a story about what his friends did last night. He was moving his hands animatedly as he tells the story.
"And they just bursted through my door this morning and attacked me with pillows saying I need to cook for them breakfast because they're guests. Huh. How dare they interrupt my sleep!" Nunew said as Zee just nods along.
"How old are you kids again? 10?" Zee shakes his head
Nunew sticks his tongue out at Zee
"That doesnt make you look more mature Nu." Zee tells him
"Anyway, what will you do tomorrow? We're closed mondays and tuesdays remember.
"Oh yeah. Im going to bangkok for 2 days. Im meeting my parents. And theres this party we need to attend" Nunew tells him. It's an award ceremony, not a party. Well there is an after party. So that's still technically a party. Nunew rambles in his head.
Zee nodded at him.
"What about you Hia?" Nunew asked
"Probably just do some restocking here. Or experiment on the menu. Maybe go to the market to see what's abundant at the moment" Zee tells him as he sips his tea.
"Do you live to cook? You sound like you live in the kitchen" Nunew tells him
"That's what my friends always say" Zee said as he drinks his tea.
"What time are you going?" Zee asked
"Uhmmm.. around 8am maybe" Nunew tells him
"Okay" Zee tells him as he looks outside the window. He then twirls the tea in his cup
"Do you want to go with me to the beach tomorrow to watch the sunrise?" Zee asked shyly without looking at Nunew.
Nunew stopped midway as he lifts his teacup. He looked at Zee who's just staring at his cup as if its the most entertaining thing in the world.
"Sunrise?" Nunew asked him
"Yeah, sunrise here is very pretty. It might help with your project. But no presssure if you dont want to. Or if you're busy. That's fine" Zee tells him
Nunew smiles at Zee widely as he looks at him. Zee still not looking at Nu
"What time are we going?" Nunew suddenly asked
Zee looked up to Nunew. He sees Nunew smiling at him which automatically made him smile too
"5:30am. Is that alright?" Zee asks Nunew.
Nunew looked at his watch. Its 12:30
"I better go then." Nunew tells Zee.
" I should help you wash these." Nunew asked.
"No, that's fine. This is not much for me to wash" Zee tells Nunew.
"It the least I can do for the desserts. So let me help. Okay? Please?" Nunew persuade Zee.
"Alright then. Come at the back" Zee tells Nunew as they walk towards the kitchen
"Wow. So this is how it looks like" Nunew said to him. Zee chuckles at him
"Maybe you can teach me how to cook?!" Nunew excitedly said
Zee laughs at his excitement.
"Maybe. If you stop burning yourself I will" Zee says as he starts washing the lunch box.
"You should teach me so i would stop burning myself. Or worse, the whole house" Nunew tells Zee.
"Well see, if you havent burn your house yet maybe i will" Zee teases Nunew as he pouts.
"Here. Stop pouting, you look like a lost cat. I will wash you dry. Okay?" Zee said when he hands the drying towel to Nunew who took it from him
