Sakuya's P. O. V:Later that night, it's a full moon. As I was going to find a nice spot to sit and sing for awhile, I find a familiar redhead on a hotel roof.
I go up to him quietly and say, gazing up at the full moon above us, "Isn't the moon lovely?"
Gaara wrenches around only to freeze at the sight of me.
"It's you," Gaara says, a lace of hate in his voice. "What are you doing here? What do you want? To kill me, too?"
I pause at the last question, gazing at Gaara with softened eyes. Too? What does he mean? That someone has tried to kill him earlier? But, why?
"Not at all," I state, giving him a soft smile, but the glare doesn't fade from Gaara face. "I just came out to sing for awhile, until I spotted you. So, mind if I join you?" When Gaara doesn't respond, but just keeps glaring at me, I step up to his left and sit beside him. There's a moment of silence as I gaze up at the moon.
I then turn my head to Gaara who hasn't taken his eyes off me the whole time. "You... don't get much sleep at all, do you?" He still doesn't answer. I raise my hand and gently place it on his cheek, but Gaara doesn't slap it away. "You know, my Healing Touch could help relieve some of your stress. It might help you to sleep, then. If you'll let me."
At his silence, I take some water from the bottle I started strapping to my waist and place my hands on his head. The water glows as I murmur, "Water Style: Healing Touch Jutsu." After a few seconds, I pull my hands away. Gaara appears to be more relaxed than before, though only a little. "Better?"
When he still doesn't respond, I let out a sigh and look back at the bright moon.
"I can't hurt you," Gaara speaks up suddenly, regaining my attention. "I don't know why, but I can't even kill you. Every time I try, he yells at me. And, that look in your eyes... when you sang that day, it calmed my bloodlust and the beast inside me. It happened for only a few seconds, but it was calm. You're also the first person who isn't afraid of me, or doesn't hate me for what I am."
I stare at Gaara in confusion. What is he talking about?
"What do you mean?"
He doesn't answer. Instead, Gaara says, "Sing something. It... really calms him."
Still confused as to what he's talking about, I nod my head and gesture for Gaara to move closer. He hesitates before letting me wrap my arm around him.
I then begin to sing, my soft voice drifting over the night covered village.
