GIVE ME A WORD
I ain't sure if every word I choose
Will suit him best
If it's a test
My fingers were crossed in bluesI'm certain that I still have
A lot of choices in my vocabulary
I don't know what to shove
Don't make me hurryNow, I can't think clearly
Give me a word
Not as complex as SURD
Now, I feel silly— reallyGuess I met him
Not personally
It was never easy
To welcome someone in dimI don't usually talk to strangers
Hence, I asked God yet he eventually answered my prayers
The trick is that the stranger's name
From the bible it cameAnd I said
Give me a word
It led
A questions absurdGive me a word
Describe him as what's preferred
I think he's funny
In every way he didn't realize merelyHe asked if I'm okay
He asked if he bothers me
I hope he knows those words will stay
In my head entirelyThinking 'bout him is like staring at an unfamiliar destination
I don't know the place but Im not scared to get lost
I thought perhaps he's got a good imagination
Don't ask me how, I just said it 'coz—Just give me a word
Even though I don't
Know where this poem is leading
All I know is that perhaps he needs healingFrom all the pain that life had caused him
The aching is silent but emotions will always scream
I don't know the person
But I'll pray for him for no reasonJust give me a word
The fancy one that'll make them allured
Though I didn't hear him stuttered
Singing Taylor's song Enchanted — did he withhold? Now, let's stop being insane and crazy
Give me a dang word to finish this misery
Oh! I remember, perhaps it could be—
The word used by manyMight be overused but this I know fits him exactly
The word is NICE
He is, don't question me
He is nice — I tried to prove it for like thrice alreadyIm glad I use to know him
I somehow got a glimpse of men's scheme
He says to mention his name is not a problem at all
So, I'll tell you, his name is John Paul
