A LOVE LIKE THEM

I watched them fall in love
They seem to be magic
Each other's the best they have
No space for tragic
They are in love

I looked up to them
She's princess and he's prince charming
Wished to find a love like them
A love so pure and calming
They're such a blissful moonbeam

One day, I stumble upon someone
He's nice
Thought I found the one
Expensive - oh dang, price!
It cost my sanity - well done

I was told, I was asking for too much
Perhaps I asked the wrong one
The lovebirds I adore didn't have problems as such
With all her expectations he didn't run
He met her there and offered much

I looked in the mirror and wonder
Perhaps it's because I'm not a princess
Hence, before hurting me he didn't even ponder
I am not like her - I'm less
Thus, bare minimum from him is more

But losing myself choosing love is not worth it
Love is supposed to feel like home
Safe and peaceful, is it?
I wonder if we have different definition of home
But mine needs to be the safest place on the planet

So, I closed my doors
I better watch my lovebirds by the window
The love they have - I'll always adore
If I can't have mine now and no one would ever show
I'd rather witness my lovebirds have kids - do they want 4?

But my world shattered
I saw them part their ways
The flowers withered
The ring perhaps, he misplace
She waited for him 'till she faltered

I prayed for them to be one again
But day by day he was running away
Being far from the man she loved in the rain
The scary part is she wanted to stay
But her heart and her mind can foresee the pain

Back then she was so sure to be his bride
But now she just wanted to be free
From the bondage of his pride
I hate that he doesn't understand her plea
When he walked away- she didn't stop him but she cried

I found myself talking to God,
"I hope I won't find a love like them"
My heart is reeling for them so bad
They used to be my favorite team
Now, all I ever feel is sad

Perhaps, it's not about how long you've been together
It's not about the sweetest moments you're shared
It's not about the most adorable picture you've captured
Only if both truly cared
Only if men wanted to be your forever not just your summer lover
