Star Lord x Reader

You where sat in the living area of the Milano. You had your head phones plugged in and were listening to Abba. "Gimme!, Gimme!, Gimme! a man after midnight!" You shook your head from side to side slightly as your walked about swinging your hips "Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away!" You grabbed a bottle of drink from the table and flopped into the chair beside you taking a swig from the drink.

" Gimme!, Gimme!, Gimme! a man after midnight!" you repeated singing the chorus you closed your eyes and bobbed your head to the beat of the music "Take me through the darkness to the break of the day!" Unannounced to you Peter was standing in the door way with an amused smile on his face. He didn't know the song but watching you sing it oblivious to his presence was kind of funny. He had to admit that he thought you where beautiful. He'd never seen or met anyone like you. Every time he was around you he got this weird feeling in his chest and his heart would begin to swell. He didn't know it was happening but he had fallen in love with you completely and there was not a single thing he could do about it. You opened your eyes feeling like someone was watching you.

Turning you faced Peter and seeing his smile you blushed from embarrassment "H-how long where you there?" He smirked as you cheeks flooded red and he took a step closer.

"Long enough" You rolled your eyes and looked away irritation taking over your previous embarrassment. Why did he just stand there did he think you singing was funny. Peter took the seat next to you and stole a sip of your juice drink "Hey!" You protested causing him to laugh, he loved how cute you got when you where irritated "That was mine!" You huffed and folded your arms across your chest pouting slightly.

Peter rolled his eyes and placed his lips on your cheek in a soft kiss causing your (e/c) eyes to widen"There all better" He said before he rose from his seat and left you bewildered. What did the kiss mean? Did he love you? No, why would he, you dismissed the thought quickly and took it as Peter being his childish self. Slowly you raised your hand to your cheek and touched the spot that he had kissed. A small smile came to lips as you thought about the small gesture.

Peter had left the room shocked with himself. He had kissed you, not on the lips but he had kissed you. He didn't know what had come over him, he just suddenly had the urge to kiss you. As he thought of the kiss he wished he had been brave enough to go for your lips, but when it came to you he was a coward. He just didn't know how to act around you and it worried him. After all he was Star Lord the Ladies man. Sweeping women off of their feet since 2000 . But when it came to you he drew a blank slate. He worried that you would get mad at him for kissing you or that you wouldn't feel the same way about him that he did about you, because as his lips connected with your soft skin he realised what he had been missing the entire time.

That he loved you.

You rose from you seat and entered the cock-pit of the Milano that Peter had run off to. You where going to tell him. You had sat and thought about it and if he didn't feel the same way about you, you could always leave but if he did then you had been wasting so much time already just crushing on him and you didn't want to waste any more. Peter was sat in one of the pilot chairs even though the ship was on auto-pilot. He was starring at the stars, thinking most likely. Releasing a slow shaky breath you drew in the courage to speak to him "Peter?" He stood from his chair to look at you. Your fists clenched at your sides out of nervousness.

"(y/n)?" He asked looking at you with his big green eyes. You could just stare at them all day long, they were so beautiful and captivating. "I have something to tell you" He closed his eyes expecting you to shout or tell him that it wasn't his fault but you didn't like him that way .

"You missed" Where the two words that left your mouth. He looked at you confused as you walked closer to him.

"What do you mean I missed?" He asked a frown forming on his face. You giggled and placed your hands on the side of his head placing your lips gently on his, you pulled away but only so your faces where inches apart. He stared into your eyes and you starred into his "You missed" You repeated and a look of realisation flashed over his features.

"Oh, well that simply won't do" His arms wrapped around your waist and he pulled you in for another longer more passionate kiss.

Your fingers traveled into his curls and he slowly pulled away "I love you (y/n)" You smiled as the words left his lips and pressed yours to his in a chaste kiss "I love you too, Star Lord" He grinned at you before lifting you off the ground causing you to squeak in shock.

"Well I mean" He began as your legs wrapped around him "its hard not to" You rolled you eyes and allowed him to kiss you again. As you pulled apart he put you down and sat back in his chair before pulling you into his lap.

You snuggled into his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around you "I'm being serious though (y/n) I really do love you" You looked up at him and pressed a kiss to his jaw as his fingers began to play with your hair "I know Peter, I know"

"Rodent I do believe that you now owe me one hundred units!" You both heard Gamora shout from the other room. You turned red whilst Peter laughed. You could hear Rocket mumbling under his breath about how it was a stupid bet. Peter looked you and shrugged "Kids will be kids" You laughed and snuggled back into him "Hey,(y/n)?" you heard him ask. You looked up at him as his eyes focused on the stars "Will you become my Star Lady?" He looked down at you a boyish smile on his face, you giggled and he joined in with your laughter his deep laugh mixing with your high giggle "It would be my honor, Star Lord" he smiled and kissed your forehead.
