Chapter 43- Lost Love

Manik's POV:

''Sid?'' I said involuntarily. I didn't expect to see him in my life. He came inside and we followed him. I looked at Nandini and she was equally shocked as me. ''Manik Malhotra, aap yaha itni subah?'' he asked me. I don't know how he would react if he knew that I stayed here all night. I can see how uncomfortable Nandini is. I did not say anything. ''Oh, I'm Dr. Siddharth Reddy'' he introduced himself and extended his hand for a shake. I shook hands with him. ''I have seen your recent film, it is fantastic'' he congratulated me. ''It might be a dream come true for Nandini'' he said looking at her. ''What! dream moment?'' I did not understand anything he said. ''Working with her most favorite hero for her first film would definitely a dream come true moment for any fan'' he said. ''Nandini meri fan hai?'' I didn't know she was my fan girl. 

''Sid, you here?'' Nandini finally spoke something. ''I didn't get to hear anything from Satya, so I thought he...'' Sid trailed off seeing Nandini. ''When did he pass away?'' he asked. ''Last week'' she said. ''So, you were in touch with Satya?'' I asked Sid. ''Huh, to be honest, we never wanted to disclose this to Nandini, even now I didn't wanted to come back but I don't know what brought me here'' he said but technically he did not answer my question too. ''How did you know my address?'' Nandini asked him and he must tell now. ''I know everything about you. Your flat, the hospital Satya is being treated, your sets and many more about you'' he said. ''I mean you and Satya'' he said again. Nandini was so right about this guy, if she did not ask to leave, he would have never left her. 

''Satya would call me every thursday, if he did not call me, that week would be his last one. It was our thing'' he said. ''Uh Manik, I want to talk to her for sometime'' he said. Why is he seeking my permission though. ''Alone'' he added. How could he ask me to get out but I have no option. I waited outside. I felt like I'm waiting outside a maternity ward. When Mukti was in labor Abhimanyu might have felt the same tension. Mukti was right when she said I will understand everything when I become a father. What am I even thinking, I'm not going to be a father anyhow now. But what might they be doing inside. Will he ask Nandini to get back to him or will he agree to stay with her from here on. How would I know what's happening inside. Will they get back together again? I'm sure Nandini will agree if he ask her to get back in his life. No, she already broke up with him why would she go back.

Satya was always in touch with Sid, then why did he never let Nandini know about it? Satya was very caring towards Nandini. He always thought of Nandini and her well being. Did he ask Sid to meet Nandini after his death. So many questions in my mind but every one of them left unanswered. I'm standing here for like 20 minutes and still he is not calling me inside. At least Nandini should have called me inside. I can't hold this anymore now, I should go inside to see what's happening. I went inside suddenly and what I saw was a shocker for me. Sid hugged her while Nandini cried uncontrollably. ''Nenu unnanu Nandini'' he said but I didn't understand what he said. ''You here?'' he asked surprised. Did he forget that he asked me to wait outside. ''My car keys'' I pointed to the keys I left there. He picked them up and handed over them to me. ''I thought you have already left'' he said. ''I was about to leave'' I said and left from there. Nandini didn't even look at me and I was disappointed. 

Why Nandini why? I was so restless seeing them hugging each other. I don't even know if I'm sad, jealous or angry but I didn't feel like being there even for a moment. I went home from there and shut myself in my room. I didn't talk to my mom when she called me. I heard a knock on my door. I can't even be myself at my home too. I opened the door and saw Mukti. ''Mukti please not now, we will talk later if there is anything important'' I said. ''Manik, please listen to me, don't close the door'' she said. It seemed important as Mukti would never use such pleasing tone for me. ''What is it?'' I asked her. ''Can we talk in your room or aise hi door pe baat karna hai?'' she asked me. ''OK, come in'' I said. ''Manik, Abhimanyu ka leave khatam hone wala hai and we should go back to US now'' she said. ''Ok'' I said. ''He can't manage alone there, even I should go with him'' she said. ''Still you are not making any sense Mukti. You, Abhimanyu or the baby doesn't need my permission to go to your place'' I said. By the way, no one needs my permission for any thing these days. ''Maa ko bhi saath le jaana hai mujhe, I can't manage the baby alone there'' she said. ''So you need my permission to let you take mom along?'' I asked.

She nodded. ''If that makes you and mom happy, then it is okay for me'' I said. ''Mom aayegi if you have no problem'' she said. ''Mom sirf meri mom nahi hai. I can manage alone here, any way staff hai na yaha'' I said. ''I will convince mom and send her with you, happy!'' I asked her. ''So happy Manik, thank you so much'' she said and hugged me. ''Ok, now go'' I said. ''Ok, bandh karna apne aap ko, koi disturb nahi karega ab se tumhe aur tumhara girl friend ko'' Mukti said as she left. Oh I completely forgot about Siya and didn't even call her after leaving from that party. I called her immediately. ''Siya wo'' I tried to explain her but she interrupted me. ''Manik, Cabir said Nandini was missing, mil gayi wo'' she asked me. ''Ha, mil gayi'' I said nervously. ''Thank God you stopped Cabir from giving a police complaint, Dhruv would not tolerate it'' she said. ''Haa, Nandini is very unprofessional'' I said. I remembered how Sid and Nandini hugged each other. ''Siya, I'm just tired, baad mein baat kare hum?'' I said. ''Ok, you must be really tired, bye'' she said.

''Mujhe tho Nandini ke liye khush hona chahiye that she found her love back again. I will back with Siya again. Mera pyaar tho shuru hone se pehle hi khatam ho gaya. I felt a sharp pain in my heart and felt breathless. Yes, since a week I missed Nandini, I realized how much I was waiting for her. I didn't felt this when I missed Siya. Dheere dheere, I taught myself that Nandini se pyaar karna is not a sin. I was always there to support mom, Siya and Mukti but there was no one who had my back. Phir aayi hai Nandini, mere support banke. Yes, she is my support system. A sweet dream to my sleep. Uske aane ke baad main kitna badal gaya tha. Sometimes, I felt like a teenager who fell in love for the first time ever. I thought I should talk to Siya about Nandini, I'm sure she would understand my feelings. But ab baat karna hi bekaar hai. There is no chance Nandini would turn down Sid. I don't even know if Nandini has feelings for me or not. 

I dozed off thinking about Nandini and woke up when I heard my phone ring. It was Nandini. Why is she calling me now? No it won't be appropriate to take her call now. I did not answer her and switched off my phone so that she cannot call me again. At least from now on, I should learn to be in distance with her. This Nandini will never let me live in peace. My heart didn't accept to see her with someone else but I cannot wish to see her break again. Sid seems to be a good guy, he waited for her for all these years and came back right when she needed him. She did not share anything nor cried with me. She felt so comfortable with him after I left. I thought she would not like him coming back but no she actually felt good. Satya was right, Sid is the correct choice for her. ''Manik, come for dinner'' mom called me down. I switched on my phone and saw few missed calls from Nandini. Why would she call me these many times? Was she in danger? Ek baar uske phone nahi uthaake maine bahut badi galti kiya, ab aur nahi. ''Nandini, are you okay? Itni baar call kyu kiya?'' I was tensed. 

''Manik, Sid asked me to meet him for dinner, will you please join us! I'm very nervous'' she said.
