Chapter 15- All in a day

''He must be waiting for you, network bhi nahi hai yaha'' Manik asked Nandini, thinking that her boy friend must be waiting. Nandini thought Manik knew about Satya. ''Ha, call nahi lag raha hai'' she said. Manik felt a tinge of jealousy when she was constantly trying to call him. He finally dropped her home, ''so, you stay here'' he asked. ''Yes and thank you so much'' she said formally. ''Set se zyada dhoor nahi hai, kal time pe aa jaana'' he said and left from there. 

Mukti was waiting for Manik when he reached home. "Mukti, why didn't you go to bed yet? It's late already" Manik asked. "But I can't sleep Manik" Mukti said. ''Kuch hua? Abhi ne kuch kaha?'' Manik asked with a concern. ''Nahi, but you and Abhimanyu don't have time for me'' she said in a complaining tone. Manik sat near her. ''You don't even know what does a pregnant woman go through even! Cravings, mood swings, kabhi ye khaana kabhi wo nahi khaana, hormonal changes and all, I can't even explain. But mujhe baby shower karwane ka mann kar raha hai Manik'' she said with a dull face. ''Bas itni si baat!'' Manik said it making simpler. ''Baby shower matlab proper traditional godh barayi, uske liye Abhimanyu ko bhi yaha aana hoga and I don't know if he will come or not'' Manik understood her view. ''Just give me 2 days Mukti, main function ki saare arrangements karwaunga and I promise Abhimanyu will also be here'' he promised.

''Tum sach mein keh rahe ho na'' she asked him. ''At least trust me Mukti, I'll break his legs, if he break your heart. Usse aana hi hoga, issi condition mein maine tumhari haath usse diya shaadi mein.  Now aaram se so jao'' he told her and she went in happily. He thinks that Abhimanyu has to come there anyway. He gets happy thinking that this function would get good vibes in his family and time flies for him till morning. In the morning, Manik discusses this with Nyonika. ''Yes, maine bhi Mukti ko samjhaya if Abhimanyu can't come, usse samajna hoga'' she said. ''No mom, he said he will come home, kal raat usne message bhi kiya that he is willing to come, and work from here'' Manik said. ''Ok, let's see then. I will get the arrangements done, manager se guest list bhi banwake invites bhej dena'' she said. Manik called Aryaman to inform the same. 

''Aise boring baby shower parties mein kon aata hai Manik, I'm not interested'' Aryaman is disinterested. ''Tu kabhi kisi cheez mein interested kab ho?'' Manik asked with a hint of sarcasm. ''Mujhe set pe sabko invites send karna hai, meet me when you come there'' Manik said. He reached on set and saw Nandini standing outside of a room. He doesn't understand why she stood there. He goes near her and she drags him to a side suddenly. ''Kya kar..'' she puts her hand on his mouth to sign him not to talk. Manik didn't understand what she is doing. Then he saw Cabir and Navya talking inside. 

''Navya, I feel nothing is going right, this is not how I imagined'' Cabir said to Navya and Manik, Nandini heard them. ''Aisa kuch nahi hai Cabir, maybe the anxiety in you is making you say it. Bharosa rakho'' she lifted his spirit. ''I feel neither Manik, Nandini nor Aryaman are interested or taking the shoot seriously. Kabhi koi late aata hai, koi schedule postpone karne kehte hai. I don't know what will happen the every next minute'' he said. ''Manik sir ka ek hi wish hai, he has to hit the bullseye now. His production house' first movie and his next movie after an average one. He is taking it prestigiously. Nandini ka second project kyunki uski first movie halt ho gaya tha, even she is feeling nervous. But ek debut director ke liye, hit or flop, ye matter nahi karta. All that matters to a writer,director like me is the Story. The story I wanted to tell everyone, hit ho ya flop mujhe bas mere kahani sabko dikhana hai. That is why I never wanted a star hero to do this film but Manik himself agreed to do this'' Cabir wondered. 

''Humare wajhe se Cabir ko kitna bura laga na'' Nandini whispered to Manik taking her hand off of his mouth. ''Humare nahi, tumhare wajhe se'' he corrected her. ''Oh, he clearly didn't say that he is happy with you even'' she taunted him. He ignored her. ''Remember what I told you last night! Stay away from Aryaman'' he reminded. ''I don't have any interest in taking a dig at you or your friend, mujhe jo batana hai maine bata diya. To trust me or not, it's his choice'' she said and left from there. ''Whatever Nandini said to Aryaman, I hope its not true'' he thought. Manik met Aryaman after a while. ''Hang over?'' Manik offered a black coffee to him. ''Ha, sort of'' Aryaman took it. Manik understood that he don't remember that who dropped him home. He hoped that he doesn't remember what Nandini told him. But luck was not in favor of him. ''Last night, Nandini told me something which you won't believe'' Aryaman said. Manik was waiting for Aryaman to speak.

''What did she say?'' Manik asked. ''That mom told Tara to get married'' Aryaman said shocking. ''I mean how is that even possible, why would mom do that? Isn't that foolish to ask her'' he denied whatever Nandini has claimed. ''Ha, wo ho hi nahi sakta, chill'' Manik said patting his back but he can see Aryaman getting restless. ''Agar ye sach hai tho!'' Aryaman looked at Manik. ''Mujhe mom se ye poochna hi hai'' Aryaman took his phone and dialed his mom's number. Manik tried to stop him but call already got connected. ''Arya, tu iss time mein call kar raha hai?'' she asked Aryaman. ''Mom, did you tell Tara to marry that Rajesh Srivastava?'' he directly came to the point. ''What are you saying?'' she asked him. ''Please mom, is it true, just answer me'' Manik was also listening to them. ''Mom, say something'' she could hear him getting anxious. ''Did you meet her again?'' she asked in an angry tone. ''That means you are afraid that I will get to know your dirty truth'' Aryaman shouted breaking his phone.

''Tara was right. Meri maa khud mujhe dhokha diya and I was fool to not trust neither Tara nor Nandini'' Aryaman broke down.
