Chapter 80- Backfired

Manik's POV:

"Who is knocking now?" Nandini is now completely distracted from this mood. "Aur kaun Cabir hi hoga!" I said. "Siya!" she said. I looked at the door. "Don't just look, go and open it" Nandini said and I opened it slowly. I was a bit relieved when I saw Navya on the door step. "Hey Navya" I said so that Nandini would also know that it is neither Cabir nor Siya. ''I thought Nandini was here, I didn't know only you are here'' she said and was about to leave from there. ''Oh Nandini! Wo bhi yahi hai'' I said. The actual plan is neither me nor Nandini can disclose about our wedding but someone can find us, especially this CID couple. Nandini has pinched me when I asked Navya to get in. ''Nandini, yaha!'' she did not believe me at first and thought I was just joking but I had opened the door for her so that she can check herself. 

''Tum yaha kya kar rahi ho! I was searching for you'' Navya asked her. I will see how Nandini convinces Navya now. ''Washroom ke liye yaha aayi thi and I was stuck in there, acha hua ki Manik aake rescue kiya'' she said. ''Ha the door gets jammed, zyada use nahi kar raha hai na ye room ko'' I had to say it for her. ''So, shall we go down, Manik, sab neeche tumhara intezaar kar raha hai'' she said. ''Oh yeah, we can go down'' I said and was the first one to leave the room. I thought Navya will catch us red handed today and it was just Nandini's luck to get saved. I mean, Navya Cabir ko bataane mein bhi kya problem hoga Nandini ko! Anyways Cabir and Siya had a surprise element on their faces when me and Nandini got down along with Navya. ''Kya hua? why are you looking at me like that'' I asked Cabir. ''Kya hum aaj iss film ka heroine ka announcement bhi aaj hi kar dein?'' he asked. ''Wo tho hum already kiya na, auditions ke baad hi decide karenge'' I said. 

''Why do you want to take audition for Siya?'' he asked with an obvious face. ''Siya ke liye audition kyu! She is not a part of this movie'' I said. ''Exactly, why can't she be a part of this movie? Tumhare career ke saath saath iska career bhi doob gaya hai, even she wasn't a part of any movie since 2 years like you, and you both make a great pair on screen. It was already a proved formula, in fact your pair is a success formula'' Cabir said. ''But Cabir, we have decided that we are gonna look for a new fresh face'' I said. I know exactly where is it going but damn this Cabir knows that I'm not in relation in Siya anymore but still taking her side. ''Even Siya is ready to act without taking remuneration just like you'' he said. I know why Siya is doing this and I'm sure Cabir is also aware of her intentions. ''Cabir, we need to talk'' I said and was about to take him along with me but Nandini jumped in to congratulate Siya. ''I'm so happy that you are back into movies again'' she said as she shook hands with Siya. 

''Ok, we can talk'' Cabir offered himself to come along. ''Why are you doing this now? Kal raat tak tho naye heroine ki baat chal rahi thi achanak ye kaise hua?'' I asked him. ''Because Siya wants to mend the things between both of you. She also wants to restart her career like you'' he said. ''And you, after knowing everything, still accepted this. So, does this mean you don't care about my feelings? I can't mend things between me and Siya, we are already over'' I said. ''Tumne ye sab pagalpan Siya ke liye kiya and now you are saying you are over, aise kya hua tumhare aur Siya ke beech?'' he asked. ''I can't tell you everything now, but I can't fake it anymore. And you very well know that I have feelings for Nandini'' I said. ''You said the same thing for Nandini until yesterday, that you have no feelings for her'' Cabir asked me. ''Get it straight now, Siya and me, we are just friends now. Ab tak main uske life mein tha, aage bhi rahunga but only as a friends and I love Nandini'' I said. ''What about Nandini! Wo tho khushi khushi Siya ko congratulate bhi kar rahi hai'' he said. Oh Cabir, how should I save you from Nandini's anger now.

''I don't care Nandini mere baare mein kya sochti hai but I will always love her'' I said. ''Well, maine Siya se isliye ha kaha kyunki wo ek achi actress hai, so hum kaam se kaam rakhte hai, mujhe tumhare love stories mein koi interest nahi hai'' he said. I sighed. ''Actually hai, but I don't want to look desperate. You can actually use this opportunity to make Nandini jealous too'' he suggested. How can I tell this poor soul that Nandini is already being burnt in this jealous. ''Itne unique ideas aate kaha se! Kabhi Siya kabhi Nandini, kaise kar lete ho tum ye sab'' I asked him. ''Bade aaram se, but the truth is dono ladkiyan bahut sundar, susheel kanya hai. Koi ek ko tho apne ghar wali bana de, aur koi bahar wali reh jayegi'' he said. ''You have just one job Cabir, direction, bas ye karlo, don't try to be a match maker'' I said. Unknowingly, he is the soul reason of Nandini's anger now and he is talking about impressing her. By the time, I went out with Cabir, Nandini was nowhere to be seen. I tried calling her but all of them were unattended. Ab tho jaana hi padega uske paas.

''Where are you going?'' Cabir asked me while I tried to go out. ''Kuch kaam aa gaya, bahar jaa raha hu'' I said and Cabir came near. ''Nandini se milne jaa rahe ho kya?'' he asked. ''Yes, please manage here'' I requested him. ''Nahi, even Nandini might be still mad at you, let her be at peace bro'' he said. ''Peace? You are messing up everything Cabir, I need to sort out few things'' I said and I left from there. I have tried to call her many times on my way to home but no reply from her. I used my spare key to enter in. Nandini looked at me when I came in but she did not react. I sat beside her on the bed and put my hand hesitantly on her shoulder. She slowly turned towards me. ''Do you already know ki Siya ye movie ki heroine hai?'' she asked me. I stood up instantly, ''no, mujhe nahi pata, Cabir ne abhi announce kiya hai na. Even he is forced to accept because she will not take remuneration and ye sab paise bachaane ke techniques hai Cabir ke'' I blabbered but Nandini showed her hand as a sign to stop. 

''Nandini, suno'' I tried to speak. ''Why are you speaking now? Tab bolna chahiye tha na'' she said. She is fuming in anger. ''See, I've already told Cabir, that I only love you and I can't work with Siya'' I tried to defend. ''But still Cabir ne kuch nahi kiya, why is that every one feels Siya is helpless, bechari Siya and when it comes to me, Nandini ko hum kuch bhi kar sakte hai, usse kuch bhi keh sakte hai, uska opinion kisi ko matter nahi karta hai. After all this Manik, I feel like a piece of papert, which has no value in someone's life'' she said. Nandini ka gussa handle karna is ok but seeing her in this way is breaking my heart. ''It is because everyone knows you are strong, not because you deserve it but you can handle anything and everything graciously'' I said. ''But why me? Why should I always be the one to fight for everything, why should I fight for the one who is already mine!'' she broke into tears. I held her in my arms. ''Aryaman bhi yaha karta aa raha hai and now Cabir, thak gayi hu main. I don't want to fight with my own people. All this is breaking my heart Manik'' she said. 

''Tho hum har ek piece ko jod ke phir se mazboot banenge. Pehle jaise kuch nahi hai, hum dono abhi saath mein hai but we have to fight for ourselves to be together always. If you feel tired, I will be there behind you to push a mile and tum bas mere saath khade rehna. And coming to this movie, ye mera ek hi trump card hai, if I win, I win nahi tho back to square one. This is my last chance, jaise Cabir ne kaha Siya and me, we both make a great pair on screen, so this would also work out'' I said. Nandini stood up again and wiped her tears. ''So, you are not asking Cabir to take his decision back?'' she asked folding her hands against her chest. ''Why would Cabir do that? I told you na, this will be like win win for both Cabir and me. Having Siya onboard is not so bad'' I said. ''So you are here to announce your decision and not to convince me'' she asked me with a straight face. ''If not Siya, some other girl would do it eventually so why not Siya? Mujhe koi aur co actor aur Siya mein koi fark nahi hai. Ha pehle se wo mera friend hai bas'' I was trying to make things simpler but us being the most complicated couple, it might not work out.

''Then why are you even here? Didn't you have to party tonight at Siya's place'' she asked. ''What party?'' I asked. She showed her phone and Navya sent her an invite where Siya is throwing a party for this movie launch. I have checked my phone too and got a message from Siya. ''I don't know anything about it, I'm not going anyway'' I said. ''You're clearly lying Manik, how can you avoid your girlfriend Siya's party and I'm sure she is throwing this party to celebrate your togetherness'' Nandini is now trying to provoke me. ''This jealousy is really getting you down one day Nandini. Have control on your words'' I said holding her wrist. ''Don't come here tonight, you will remind me of that party if you stay here'' she said. ''You are really being meaningless you know'' I said. ''I think this is the first fight we've picked up after marriage and all this is because of Siya and Cabir'' she said. ''It is you who picked up a fight wantedly, kisi aur ko blame kyu karna hai, I won't give that power to others to ruin my mood'' I said. 

''Then why are we having this discussion yet, you can go now'' she said. ''I think you've lost it, gussa tanda hone ke baad call karo main wapas aa jaunga, bye until then'' I picked up my car keys and phone. ''Ye tho party mein jaane ka bahaana hai na'' she said. ''Nice try but I'm not staying with this angry bird now, I've got you food too, eat and sleep. Bye'' I said. 

''People have sex in their weakest moment of life but we had marriage'' I heard her saying as I left from her room.
