Chapter 85- The Devil

Manik's POV:

Ye Nandini ko kya ho gaya ki wo mujhe aisa basement mein band kiya. I tried calling Nandini but of no use as her mobile is switched off. I have come here to park the car but I seemed to forgot the garage key and I'm stuck here. If she is doing it purposefully, mujhe Nandini ko ye samjhana hoga ki I'm not at fault and I had to hide about Dhruv. Wo bhi tho mere safety ke liye Dhruv ke baare mein mujhe kuch nahi bataya. I had no option to get out until Nandini opens the garage door and I had to sleep in the car. It was 7 o clock in the morning when I heard someone knock on the car window and I saw Nandini. ''Why the hell did you locked me up in the garage?'' I asked and she stayed mum. I think she is still mad at me. I followed her inside till the room and she stopped me there. 

''Tum apne room mein jake fresh ho jao'' she said. ''Tho ab kya room mein aane nahi dogi?'' I asked her and she again ignored my question. ''Jo bhi ladaai ho, we should make a rule that we should sort out before going to bed. Aise raat bhar lock karne ke baad bhi tumhe mujh par taras nahi aaya?'' I asked her. ''Manik, go get ready and have breakfast. Main nikal rahi hu'' she said. ''Phir se wo Rohan ke saath breakfast karne ke liye nikal rahi ho?'' I asked her and she gave a sudden sharp look. ''I mean ye tho roz ka chakkar hai tumhare, jao'' I said. She quickly ran into her room and I went to my room. I looked for my towel to take a shower and remembered that I have left in our room. I thought of going to her room but dropped the idea as I didn't feel like asking her anything now. Nandini looked a bit different today. Her eyes were puffy and she looked pale. Maybe she also didn't sleep well last night.

I tried calling Alya but she was picking any of my calls and I heard the sound of engine roaring. Ye tho Nandini ka car sound hai hi nahi. I then peeped out of the window and saw Rohan there who might have come to pick up Nandini. Siya, then called me. ''Manik, kya tum ghar aa sakte ho?'' she asked me. ''Why all of a sudden, Is everything okay?'' I asked her. ''Ha sab theek hai, just breakfast ke liye bula rahi hu'' she said casually but I don't think this is her casual invitation. I typically know her since years and wo aise hi kisi ko breakfast par nahi bulati. However I wanted to know why Alya had called her urgently so I decided to go. She invited me there when I went inside and made me sit on the dining table for breakfast. My curiosity increased when I saw the breakfast on the table. One can clearly know if they knew Siya that she didn't call me to eat. If she had really called me for breakfast, she would have at least got 8 to 9 breakfast options and various tea/coffee options too, unlike other instances, we had a simple sandwiches for today. 

Dhruv and Alya have also joined us in a moment. ''Hi Manik, good morning, glad to see you here'' he said. ''Hi Dhruv, morning. Siya has just called me for breakfast this morning'' I said to him. ''Tho kuch aur bhi banwa leti breakfast mein, plain sandwiches hi tho hai'' there she is caught again but chal kya raha hai iski dimaag mein. ''I just thought we should have breakfast together and then hum shoot ke liye saath mein nikalenge'' she said making an excuse to him. ''Alya, why did you call Siya yesterday? Shoot se bhi wo bhaag ke chali aayi'' I asked her and Alya choked on her food. ''Alya, slow down baby! Did you call Siya yesterday'' he asked Alya. ''Ha wo Alya mujhe surprise karna chahti thi, after all it was my birthday yesterday'' she said. Ye kab se apni birthday manaane lagi hai. ''I completely forgot about your birthday Siya, I'm so sorry. I'm glad you at last decided to move on from mom dad's accident'' Dhruv said putting his hand on Siya's head. The mere mention about their parents made me feel awkward there. 

''Good morning everyone, I have a good news for all of you'' there comes the devil himself, Rohan. Didn't he take Nandini out for breakfast! Why is here again! ''Good morning Rohan'' Dhruv wished him. ''Kya good news hai?'' Siya asked him. ''I'm going to get married'' he said. Thank God ab isko thoda akal aa gaya hoga, I'm so sorry for that unlucky girl. ''Suddenly? Ye kab hua?'' Alya looked shocked. ''Till yesterday if someone told me that I should get married, I would straightaway say No but kal subah hote hi maine shaadi ka decision le liya'' he said giving sweets to us. I took two as I can't contain my happiness. ''Nice decision, shaadi karne mein late kyu karna hai, if you have an understanding partner'' I said that I'm so happy for him. ''I know Manik. Thank you for your wishes buddy'' he said hugging me. ''But Rohan did you think anything about Mithra and Ethan! Un dono ka divorce chal raha hai and tum ye shaadi ki baat ab kar rahe ho?'' Siya looked concerned about them.

''Ha mujhe bhi ab ye theek nahi lag raha hai but situation aisa hai ki ab ye shaadi bahut important hai'' he said with a serious look. ''Ok, you must have thought over it. Who is the lucky one?'' Siya asked excited. Even I was eager to know too. ''Nandini'' he said and I spit the water in my mouth on his blazer. Siya and Alya looked at me weirdly. ''Kaun! Nandini?'' I can't believe I heard him right. ''Ha Nandini se main shaadi karne wala hu, wo bhi bahut jald. Muhurat acha hai tho aaj hi shaadi karenge hum dono'' he said. My mind went blank after hearing him. ''Itna achanak kyu?'' Alya asked. ''Main tum logon ko abhi bol nahi sakta but please tum sab aa jaana shaadi mein'' he invited. ''Nandini rejected your proposal, then how come she is ready to marry you? April is not yet here, so you can't even make us fools'' I said. ''Wo proposal tho Siya ka idea hai and that didn't work out. Par main har baat share thodi kiya tum logon se! This might be a shocker to all of you, but please be there'' he said. 

How is this guy so confidently telling us that he is gonna marry my wife! ''Ok, I'll message you all the time once pandit ji announce the muhurat and the venue is at my farmhouse'' he said and took leave from there. I walked out from there and tried calling Nandini but as usual she didn't pick up any of my calls. Seriously! Itna kuch ho raha hai and she isn't picking up my calls. I knew Rohan is lying but why Nandini is allowing him to do all this. ''Manik, mujhe tumse kuch kehna hai'' Siya came to me. ''Do you know where is Rohan's farmhouse?'' I asked her and she said yes. ''Ok then, I think we should go there and help him, after all shaadi ka ghar and he might need help'' I convinced her to take me to Rohan. ''Don't you think ye shaadi ka maamla casual nahi hai, kuch tho chupa rahe hai Rohan hum sab se?'' I said to Siya. ''Ha, shaadi all of a sudden is definitely not normal'' she said. She tried to say something but I asked her if we can talk later. 

My hands trembled with fear and I hope ye sab Nandini mujhe jealous feel karwane ke liye kar rahi hai. His farmhouse was not so far away from city and it looked radiant with flowers decorated near the entrance and on both sides of the walkway. ''Tum dono abhi aa gaye?'' Rohan looked surprised. ''Bride kaha hai! Wo dikh nahi raha hai'' Siya said looking around. ''Wo ab parlor gayi hai'' he said. ''Rohan, itna suddenly shaadi! Sab kuch theek hai na'' I asked him again. ''Sorry guys, I know tum sab ko shock laga hoga but we should be married today. Maybe Nandini will not like me sharing this with you, but you're my friends and I should tell you this'' he said building a suspense. ''Ha friends ke saath sab kuch share karna tho banta hai, after all we are here to help you'' I assured him. ''Kal raat se Nandini is furious and wanted us to get married right away. Main usse bahut samjhaane ki koshish kiya but wo maan nahi rahi thi'' he said. 

''Wo kyu aise karegi?'' I asked him. ''I must say that you don't know her at all. Galti uski nahi hai but she is like that'' he said. ''Kal raat hum dono theek se so nahi paaya and I'm with her'' he said. They wouldn't be together last night wo tho kal raat ghar par hi thi but then I suddenly remembered that I was stuck in garage, does that mean she has locked me up there? Why would she do that with me! Agar ye sab mujhe jealous feel karwane ke liye hi kiya jaa rahe ho tho, Nandini hear me out, yes, I'm jealous of him. Ye Rohan bahut acha ladka hai and I can't even match him anywhere. I will accept all my mistakes but please tell me that you both are lying. ''Nandini seems to be stubborn but tumhe Mithra aur Ethan ke baare mein sochna chahiye tha na, aise kaise wo shaadi karna chahti thi aur tum maan gaye?'' Siya said. ''I would have thought about them but if I put myself in Nandini's shoes, I can't even think of anything else'' he said with a pause. ''What made you feel pity on her then?'' I asked.

''The fact that Nandini is pregnant'' he said in a low voice.
