Chapter 75- Cute Conversations

Nandini's POV:

''So do you think you can resist Nandini Murthy Malhotra?'' I decided to tease him. He cleared his throat before saying ''It's not easy but it is not impossible also''. I was silent for a minute until he asked me what happened. ''Mithra aur Ethan ki baare mein soch rahi hu'' I said. ''Kyu ? Kya hua?'' he asked me as he had no clue. ''Ethan ko na, uss accident ke baad, doctors declared that he cannot walk anymore'' I said. ''What? Aise kaise hua! Doctors then said that was temporary numbness'' Manik seemed to be shocked at this but he should listen the whole story. ''Ha they even advised for the amputation of legs, so that the infection doesn't spread to other parts of the body. But this is not the catch, the real thing you should know is, Mithra cannot withstand her handicapped husband anymore. She wants divorce now'' I concluded. ''What? Wo paagal hai kya? she should be supporting him now'' he said. ''Exactly I thought the same. Today morning, Rohan called me to inform about this and when I went to his place, Siya was already there'' I said.

''Siya must be feeling really guilty for that accident happened in her presence. She was already taking stress for Ethan'' he sighed. ''Aur tum yaha Siya ki stress ka stress le rahe ho!'' I couldn't hide it from him at least not now. Out of everything I told him, he is worried about Siya's guilt and not about his health or their divorce. ''Ok, I can smell the burns till here. We're not going to fight over Siya now'' I'm glad he understood but I'm still mad at him for passing this on without clarifying it. ''I've never seen your jealous face Nandini, how do you look when you are jealous? Cute or hot?'' he asked and before I could speak I was getting his call on FaceTime. ''Are you really serious about it?'' I asked as I answered his call. ''Ye wala jealousy face dekhne ke liye ko itne saal taras diya maine'' he said poetically. ''Tum baatein banaane mein expert ho gaye'' I said. 

''Those were the days Nandini, jab main har roz tumhare ghar aata tha. I used to make excuses just to see you and talk to you'' he said. ''Tum jhoot bol rahe ho na'' I said. ''Maybe I have never realized my feelings for you but I always have strange feelings for you. You are the one who reciprocated those feelings really late. Agar mujhe pehle se ye pata hota main hum dono ko kabhi alag nahi hone deta'' he said. ''Manik, let bygones be bygones. We will always try to live in present'' I suggested. ''But I will always miss that Nandini jo humesha mujhe protect karti thi. I miss that Nandini who always have all my secrets safe with her'' he said. ''I will miss that Manik who always wants to fight with me for no reason at all'' I said sarcastically. ''But I don't miss you fighting with me, you always find a reason to fight'' he made a grumpy face and suddenly the video call got blurred. Before I call out to see what happened, I heard Mukti's voice. ''Oh girl friend se baat kar rahe ho?'' she said. Manik might have hid his phone from Mukti and that is why I'm unable to see anything on the call.

''Maine tho abhi abhi Siya se baat kiya, and you guys are already on the call!'' Mukti tried to tease him. ''Aisa kuch nahi main Cabir se baat kar raha tha'' Manik said and then I heard Nyonika aunty's voice. ''Dhruv ki shaadi kaise hua?'' she asked. ''All good mom'' Manik simply replied. ''Main tumhe bol nahi sakti ki main kitni khush hu, its after two long years that you are finally going back to your movies'' she said. Dhruv ki ego ki wajhe se Manik aur uske family ko ye sab dekhna pada. ''But why did you say no to going back to movies?'' Mukti asked in a high voice. ''Mukti let him rest, anyway my bahu has finally made him listen to her'' I heard Nyonika aunty giggling while she teased Manik. ''Ok, let me rake rest now, hum iske baare mein baad mein baat karenge'' Manik tried to make them go out. ''Tum mere hi ghar se mujhe baahar nikal rahe ho!'' Mukti whined but Manik made sure to send them out and finally I could see him as he took his phone out. 

''See! my mom knows that her bahu will be successful in making her beta's career'' he boasted. ''Shut up, she was talking about Siya'' I said. ''No, she said about her bahu, technically its you'' he said. ''By the way, did Mithra agree to be with Ethan?'' Manik asked. ''No, she has decided that she will not be with her handicapped husband anymore. I have also advised them to get separated. At least Ethan can be at peace'' I said. ''Why did you say that? Rohan must have called you to put some sense into Mithra'' he said. ''Manik, she has already made up my mind. If she really love him, she would never thought of a divorce'' I said. ''Siya tried to defend Ethan but Mithra didn't seem to budge'' I said. ''They were trying to conceive since many years, itne saalon ke baad wo khushi mil gaya aur Mithra ke ye soch! I can't believe'' Manik said. ''What about the baby? Mithra should have at least thought about the pregnancy and the baby'' I never knew Manik was so keen on babies. As far as I remember, he even hesitated to take Mukti's baby boy in his arms when he was born. ''Nandini! Kya hua?'' he asked. ''Kuch nahi, bas tumhe aise hi dekhne ki mann kar raha hai'' I said. ''But you need to go to sleep. It's time to bed'' he said. ''Ok, you also should rest'' he might be facing jet lag too. ''Suno, restaurant ke kaam sab jaldi khatam karke, jaldi se mere paas aa jao'' I miss him so much. 

''Can't wait to hold you anymore Nandini'' Manik never fails to make me blush.
