Chapter 1- Meet the Superstar

Amidst the cheers of the crowd, there entered the Superstar, the dream boy, Manik Malhotra. ''I'm so proud of you Manik!'' said Nyonika hugging Manik. What more can a mother ask for her son. ''Would like to request the oh-so talented Superstar, Manik Malhotra onto the stage please''. Manik walked on the red carpet and reached the stage when everyone cheered for him. He raised his hand to calm down the crowd. Host gave the mic to Manik so that he could speak. ''I'm so happy and overwhelmed to take this award home today, and this is not mine. It's a team effort, my director, producer, co-actors and this goes to the whole team'' the crowd cheered hearing him. ''And Siya'' the look on his face his so evident when he saw her face. Her face can soothe anything and everything for him. ''Can Manik's ladylove come on to the stage please?'' host announced on the mic and Siya walked towards Manik.

Manik has always wondered how lucky is he to get Siya in his life. As she walked near him, he held her hand in his. ''I would like to dedicate this to her, Siya'' he said. She is overwhelmed for his lovable gesture. ''Aww, I wish mujhe bhi koi Manik jaise mile'' host is amused to look at them. ''Iske liye tho aap ko at least agle janam me Siya ban na padega'' Manik joked and Siya hit him playfully and said, ''you are mine for the all your next janams''. Manik said he would be glad to receive the award from Siya and she did so. They both came down and Nyonika stopped them midway. ''Ab duniya ka nazar lag gaye tum dono pe, kaala teeka tho lagana padega'' Nyonika joked. ''To this wonderful moment, let us all take a selfie'' Alya said in excitement. Manik and Siya glared at Dhruv standing beside Alya. ''Please Alya, not now'' said Dhruv to his sweetheart. Alya made a face and moved on. ''Such a lovey dovey couple!'' Siya commented on them. ''You call it lovey dovey!! Dhruv knows how hard it is to stop Alya, you don't know him'' Manik said to Siya.

''Oh please, don't act like you know my brother more than me!'' Siya said. ''He is your brother, I know, but we are bros, so I know how much he is tolerating Alya'' Manik said. ''But bhai loves Alya very much'' Siya intervened. ''Ha, Dhruv really loves Alya, but at times he finds it really hard to make Alya understand something, after all he loves her, so he needs to do it'' Manik said. ''Then, what will you do if I'm Alya and you are Dhruv?'' Siya asked Manik. ''I will do anything and everything if you be happy with me anytime'' Manik said with a naughty smile. ''You and your cheesy pick up lines'' Siya dismissed Manik and walked on. ''Only for you'' Manik smiled and walked along with her. They are about to leave when Manik and Nyonika got into the car. ''Bye aunty'' Siya waved at her. ''When are you coming home?'' Nyonika asked Siya. ''I'll be there before Mukti, Manik and me, hum log airport jayenge'' Siya said. ''What? No. I'm not taking you to the airport, so please go and take rest'' Manik dismissed Siya. ''But why? I wanted to meet my friend, I also miss Mukti'' Siya whined like a baby. ''There's no use if you play your card now, go take rest'' Manik said clearly.

''I'm not asking about now Siya, I want you to live with us, permanently shift ho jao humare ghar'' Nyonika said. ''I would love to, Manik ke taraf se ek ha aa gaya tho shaadi ke liye main already tayyar hu'' she said looking at Manik for him to answer. ''Mom, we're getting late, Mukti ke liye uske room bhi ready nahi hua ab tak, and Siya tum Mukti se kal subah milna, you don't have to come at early morning to meet her'' Manik clarified and drove off. ''Kya hua Manik, why don't you marry her?'' asked Nyonika. ''Mom, you know everything and you are asking me to marry her now. What about her career?'' Manik asked her. ''Career! How does that even matter, she can continue whatever she is doing now, mere liye Mukti aur Siya dono mein kuch farak nahi hai, I know Siya ek achi actress hai, aur main humesha usse support karti aayi and aage bhi aise hi support karungi. It's not like she should stop acting once she is married, you will support her and I will support her too, she knew this very well'' Nyonika stated the obvious.

''But mom, baat sirf uski career ki nahi'' Manik stopped her. ''Just now you said career and again you are like it's not about career, what is it Manik? Siya will be safe and secure with us. Uski career ko kuch nahi hoga, she can live on her terms and her health! We will always be with her to look after her, she is like my daughter after all'' said Nyonika. ''Maa, ek baar wo surgery ho jae bas, I will marry as per your wish, even I don't want to hurt you or Siya'' Manik said remembering about her surgery. ''Manik, she will be fine if she is with you, and don't worry, everything will go well, surgery ke baad Siya haste haste hamesha ke liye humare ghar aa jayegi'' Nyonika said crossing her fingers. Manik hoped the same always. He wanted to see Siya happy all the time, she deserves all the happiness in the world. Manik went to his room and changed quickly.

''Mukti ka call aaya?'' Nyonika asked as they sat for dinner. ''Call kaise karegi, she would be in flight now'' Manik said. ''Abhimanyu ko bhi uske saath aane chahiye tha, how would she be coming alone?'' Nyonika is worried. ''Abhi ko aana possible nahi tha maa, and don't worry Mukti akeli travel pehli baar nahi kar rahi hai'' Manik assured her. ''Yes I know this is not first time, but pregnant ladies ke baare mein tumhe kaise pata hoga, you never know how they feel, random mood swings and all, tum nahi samjhoge'' Nyonika said. ''Maa, relax, take a deep breathe, haa Mukti pregnant hai, but she knows how to take care of herself, bachi thodi hai, and its a matter of few hours, she will be here, manager usse yaha le aayega'' Manik explained to his mom. ''Chalo ab jake so jao, so that you can be fresh and all awake to meet my little sister tomorrow'' Manik said. ''Don't call her little sister, she is just 10 minutes younger than you'' Nyonika looked at him. ''Ok agreed, but you go sleep and have rest'' Manik forcefully sent Nyonika to her room and he retired to bed.

As usual he strolled in his room, unable to sleep. ''Manik, teri ek galti ke wajah se Siya ko itna kuch sehna padh raha hai, what have you done to her?'' he talked to himself in the mirror. ''Siya, how pure she is! Do I really deserve such a selfless human? No.'' He thought. Manik scrolled his phone and the clock had already struck 2 in the mid night. He opened the drawer near his bed and took 2 sleeping pills. It had become a daily routine for him now. He slowly dozed off. But flashes of those night memories still haunt him till date. He could not get rid of those memories and suddenly woke up from his sleep. ''Good morning Manik'' he wished himself as there's no one awake to wish him. It's 4:30 am.

Manik and his nightmares have become friends now, but doesn't get along well.
