Chapter 7- The Agreement

Manik felt dizzy and exhausted due to his sleeplessness. Cabir is making it too hard for Manik from the first scene itself. "Can we take a break" Manik finally asked and Cabir couldn't deny. "Ok, breakfast ke baad milte hai" Cabir announced. Manik went to his makeup room and calmed himself. "Agla scene hamara hai" Aryaman reminded to Nandini. "Cabir is literally scaring me, mujhe tho college ki professor yaad aaya" Aryaman said. Manik rushed and went outside in his car. "Ye Manik kaha jaa raha hai" Aryaman wondered.

"Manik sir, I have told you already to be careful. Please eat on time, Aise dobara kabhi mat karna" Doctor advised Manik as he gave an injection. "Ok I'll take care further" Manik said and tried to reach on sets.

"Ye bade logon se kaam karna itna aasaan nahi hai Cabir" Navya tried to cheer him up. "Ab wo aayega kab?" Cabir asked himself and Manik came there. "Cabir, please handle carefully" Navya said to him. Cabir ran towards Manik. "Sorry, ek emergency tha, I had to go" Manik explained to Cabir. "So should we proceed further" Cabir hesitantly asked. "Sure" Manik said confidently.

"Take 25- Action" Cabir said. Manik is determined now. Everybody is waiting for Cabir. "Shot okay" Cabir has a big smile on his face. Manik is satisfied with himself as he saw himself in the monitor. "This man Cabir, he is so tough" Aryaman commented. "Ha, mujhe bhi yahi laga, unki expectations bahut high hai, and that is why I gave him a chance" Manik appreciated himself as he chose Cabir. "How conveniently said" Aryaman said.

Now it's turn for Aryaman and Nandini. "Morning se makeup karke ready hui hu, ab tho start karna hai" Nandini thought. She rehearsed her dialogues. Cabir has repeated the same with them as he did with Manik. "Oh god! Not again" Aryaman said it aloud as everyone could hear. "Cabir, please be patient, wo dono naya hai, I suggest you talk with them. Explain them what you need, how you want them to enact. Scene explain karna, dialogues rehearse karna ye kaafi nahi hai" Manik said. He added "Please have patience Cabir, sab kuch ek hi din mein sahi nahi hoga" Manik motivated him.

"Ok sir" Cabir said. He went near Nandini and Aryaman to explain what he exactly wants. "Take 2- Action" Cabir said. Nandini said her dialogue and she stopped in the middle. "Sorry! Can we have one more!" Nandini asked. "Ok, no problem, take 3, action" Cabir said again. Manik got a phone call from Siya. ''Done with your first shot?'' she asked him and this brought a smile on his face again. ''Yes, ab tho ho gaya, aage hoga ya nahi, kuch pata nahi'' Manik told her. ''Why are you saying that?'' she asked surprised. ''Maybe tumhare bina mann nahi hai mera'' Manik said. ''I'm sorry I did not accept that role because'' Siya tripped on her voice hearing Manik but he stopped her, ''you will never need to give an excuse to me, that's ok and I'm happy if you can choose what you want'' Manik said from his heart. ''Thank you Manik'' Siya said and cut the call. Manik fell in his chain of thoughts after the call. ''Do I really feel not bad as she isn't here, I miss her, I want her here with me'' he missed Siya so much but can't even tell her.

He moved back on set and saw Aryaman and Nandini are struggling with their lines. Manik observed them as Nandini is laughing over Aryaman as he forgot his lines. Cabir is sitting behind his microphone helplessly. ''Can we stop the drama here and continue with the shoot?'' Manik shouted as if something got on him. Everyone present there were alarmed. Manik stood there watching both Aryaman and Nandini as if he has come for inspection to a school. He fixed his gaze and Nandini could sense him. She had again forgot her lines as Manik was constantly looking at her. What Manik does next was unexpected for everyone. He went near her and held her hand. ''Can't you just read and remember your lines for once, you've rehearsed also. Already you have lost a movie from your hand and you have no seriousness to continue here, do not take money if you are not sure about yourself, agar paise liya tho kaam ache se karna'' he told to Nandini.

''You can leave now'' Nandini did not understand what she has done that provoked Manik to say all that to her. Whole crew was in pin-drop silence. Tears rolled down on her cheeks for Nandini. Navya went near her and pressed Nandini's shoulder in support. ''Pehla din aur itna bada tamasha'' Cabir thought to himself. Aryaman never seen Manik in such a state and he went near him. ''What was that Manik! Even I was doing the same as Nandini, you didn't said anything to me'' Aryaman said. ''Is it because I'm your friend and she is someone else you didn't wanted to act?'' Manik was furious as he asked. ''And everyone here thinks that she is better than Siya and she could replace Siya?'' Manik shouted on Aryaman. ''First of all, she isn't a replacement to anyone, Siya herself chose Nandini and no one has a say against Siya. And you know what your problem is! Siya. It's not Nandini'' Aryaman said.

''No Aryaman, I don't want anything to hear against Siya'' Manik cleared. ''Why not! I mean, she could have stayed here but no apni marzi chali gayi, you asked her to stay. But no, you always say that she is correct and you don't say anything against her'' Aryaman said. ''So Aryaman, let me ask you something, out of everyone, why are we two best friends'' Manik asked. ''Because, we are bros, we are there for each other when one needs the other, You were and you will stay by my side no matter what happen in future'' said Aryaman. '''But imagine, 2 teenagers lost their everything in just one night because of me, but still they chose not to complain and forgiven me. How can I not be grateful to them'' Manik asked. ''It wasn't completely your mistake Manik, Dhruv knew that car's brakes failed and he tried to tell his father, unfortunately he couldn't convey. So that's not like you planned and killed them'' Aryaman tried to console guilty Manik.

''But I cannot change the fact they died because of me and Siya, wo har roz zindagi aur maut ke beech lad rahi hai'' Manik said. ''No Manik, she doesn't even know her condition, it is you who is dying in guilt everyday'' Aryaman said. ''Please don't punish yourself'' Aryaman said and he saw Nandini standing at the door. ''Come in Nandini, do you want to say something?'' he asked smiling at Nandini. ''Yes Aryaman, I came here to give it back'' Nandini said as she gave agreement papers. ''What does it mean?'' Aryaman asked her.

''I Quit'' Nandini said.
