Chapter 29- Confessions

Manik's POV:

Is this for real? Did Nandini write this? Why did she ask me to give it to Cabir then? She said Navya wants to give it to Cabir, then she could have give it to him directly when we land there. I was so stupid that I didn't get this idea when I took it from Nandini. This girl will take away my breath. I will call her once I land there. I need to know ye letter kiske liye hai. I wish ki ye flight jaldi se khatam ho. I can't even close my eyes now, bacha hua neendh bhi ye le gayi. I looked at my phone but I can't contact her. Or should I ask Navya? Nandini said Navya wanted to give it to Cabir, so I can ask her. I got up to see her but damn she is sleeping. I know many of the people generally sleep on their journeys but Navya ko abhi sona hai kya?

Nandini! What have you done to me? Was that letter for me? For Cabir? Ya kiske liye. I was the one who didn't like her in the first. I mean pehle I didn't like her but she is a nice girl. ''Please fasten the seat belt, the flight is going is land'' this announcement has made my day. It took 30 minutes for us to get down. Cabir has looked after everyone after we got down. We collected our luggage and I was checking for my phone signal. ''Girl friend se baat karni ki itni desperation?'' Aryaman came again. ''She is not my girlfriend'' I said for nth time. ''Tho phir kisko call kar rahe ho?'' he asked. Aryaman might be asking about Siya. ''Maa ko call kar raha tha that we reached, you go, I'll be back'' I said and I called Nandini. Why isn't she picking up my call now? I messaged Siya and mom that I reached. I took my bags and sat in the car. This confusion is killing me now, I have to ask Navya. ''Navya'' I called out for her. She is busy enjoying the nature I guess.

What a scenic view! Yes, this place is known for its beauty and peace. But Nandini tum yaha na hokar bhi main sirf tumhare baare mein soch raha hu. The only thing that brought me out of my thoughts is my mobile which rang. It is Nandini calling me. ''Hello'' did I sound so desperate as I was waiting for her call. ''Nandini, jo script thu ne mujhe diya, are you sure it was for Cabir?'' I asked her straightly. ''By any chance, did you read it?'' she asked hesitant. ''Yes, I read it, tum aise kaise'' Nandini se ye expected nahi tha. ''I know you will read but I asked you not to read na'' she said. ''You gave it to me, you know I will read then why did you asked me not to read'' I asked her. Ye kehna kya chahti hai. ''Mujh mein itni himmat nahi hai to ask you to read, I know you will read but mujhe darr laga, Navya and Cabir they knew you would not like it, but somewhere we wanted to let you know'' she said. ''What! Cabir and Navya know about this?'' she is embarrassing me now. 

''Yes, they both know. Even I know that you will not accept'' she knows that I won't accept it but phir bhi. ''Kaise socha tumne ye'' I asked for her answer. ''Manik, cool, listen to me. Jo kuch bhi maine likha isme Navya aur Cabir ka haath bhi hai, we all know your answer but phir bhi hum try kar rahe the. Being a girl, it's not easy for me too Manik'' she said honestly. I have cut the call. Did I go overboard with Nandini that she thinks that she loves me now. I mean I like spending time with her, I don't even know how time flies when I'm with her. Her self respect, her ambitions, her courage, everything about her is so fascinating. 

The cool breeze is not being cool with me. Aryaman is in no mood to leave me in peace. To ruin my mood, he sat beside me in the car. It was an hour drive from airport to the location selected by our art directors. ''Manik, what's POA?'' he asked. ''Do you think I'm your manager Aryaman? Why don't I maintain a diary to note your appointments and all'' I'm already pissed off at him. ''Ok itna rona mat, I'll make a note of my things'' he said. He then tried to talk to me but I ignored him. ''Kisi ka gussa mujh pe kyu nikal rahe ho? I'm here just for you and you don't even talk to me'' he said and realized what he said very soon. ''Shit, I sounded like your girlfriend right! Just forget what I said'' he was quick to realize. Thank God for his quick realization. He took out his phone and called someone. I closed my eyes as I felt exhausted. ''Nandini, I've been dying to talk to you since we landed here'' he said out of nowhere. 

I became alert and sat straight. ''Yaha pe Manik mujhse baat tak nahi kar raha hai?'' he complained to Nandini about me. ''Ha hum raste mein hai hotel jaake phir baat karunga'' why is he giving every minute update to her. He put down the phone. ''When did Nandini come between us?'' I asked him. ''Between us! She is not even here bro'' he said but what I noticed was way more than he told. ''But mujhe lagta hai, wo yaha na hokar bhi sabke saath hai. She is not here in physical form but on everyone's mind. As soon as we got out, Navya called Nandini and said she is all fine. Cabir, he too called her to inform we reached safe. Ab tum, kya ho raha hai'' I asked Aryaman. Was everyone so close to Nandini? I asked myself. ''Manik, the truth is everyone in the crew likes Nandini very much, except for you'' he did not just say but feels like he confessed it. Why does he think I don't like her? 

''I know you don't like her but that doesn't mean no one likes her. She is a nicest girl Manik. Do you think I would have survived Tara's death without Nandini. She was the only one with me, jisne mujhe support kiya, if not for Nandini, I would have never talked to my mom again. I learnt from her to let go off everything. I'm a completely changed person now'' Aryaman sach mein emotional ho gaya hai. ''Where were you when Tara died? You were with Siya, Mukti and all your family, wo thi mera saath. But I don't blame you, and that is because of Nandini too'' he said in one go. I was so stupid that I didn't even realize anything when Aryaman was going through that tough phase. I'm such a bad friend someone could have. ''Aryaman, I'm so sorry'' I said as I really felt guilty. ''Don't apologize Manik, I'm just stating the facts. But I won't stop disturbing you'' he said. ''Should I ask you something?'' I asked Aryaman. ''You don't have to take permission'' Aryaman said.

''Do you love Nandini?'' I couldn't hold it any longer. ''Will someone have any reason to not love her'' Aryaman said.
