Pike doesn't waste any time explaining some need-to-know facts. It's the reason he came to them, rather than sitting with Xenji and Zanin.

Speaking just loud enough for only them to hear, he tells them about the events of last year.

Aonung and Rotxo started as friends, with Xenji and Zanin who are both in Aonung's Gen. A time before Pike was a part of their friend group. It was obvious the two were into each other, so with much encouragement, they became official.

Naturally, after dating Rotxo, Aonung got to see new sides of him, including the side that's a thieving criminal. It came as a shock, but Aonung still liked him nonetheless.

Without Rotxo's knowledge, he had discussed the illegal matter with Xenji and Zanin. They were quick to tell him not to continue down that road with Rotxo, but Aonung didn't listen.

No matter how much they feared and warned Aonung about the fire he was playing with, the boy just kept on going. The two friends finally concluded that Aonung was too smitten with Rotxo to think straight.

But one night, Rotxo went and faced the wrong guy. It was a solo run, but he brought Aonung along with him. Even the boy's family had warned him, but he paid it no mind.

Most would say Rotxo had a beating coming to him because of the way he so obviously fed off of Aonung's affections, but his boyfriend didn't feel that way.

When Rotxo was hurt, Aonung lost it. He beat the man half to death, then escaped that situation with Rotxo. When he told his friends of what happened, again without Rotxo's knowledge, they finally understood him.

He wasn't ignoring their concerns, he was heeding them. All he ever did was try to keep Rotxo safe in the life he chose, not caring what happened to himself in the process. Unfortunately, Aonung's beating left that man permanently injured, and since no one was around to see who did it, Aonung never faced consequences.

That is, until the man had an early death because of his struggles living with the permanent injuries. It hindered him, and ended up getting him killed. When Aonung found out, that was enough punishment to scar him for life.

He killed a man.

He murdered someone for Rotxo.

Rotxo made him end that man's life.

But Rotxo also saw no problem with it.

And that's when Aonung realized just how toxic the smaller boy was to him. He made a vow never to lay a harmful hand on anyone again. And a vow never to become so entirely smitten with someone ever again. Because it's dangerous.

So, he broke up with Rotxo, making the boy beyond angry.

As the two's friendship was at a standstill, Pike came into their group. From afar, Rotxo set his sights on him, and played nice, as if he was over things and could hang out with the others again.

Under Aonung's nose, Rotxo hooked Pike around his finger, but soon ended up caught. Before Pike could be trapped in hell, Aonung pulled him back from the edge and explained everything.

Rotxo wasn't pleased he interfered, and even threatened to tell the authorities of Aonung's murder. To keep the boy quiet, and away from Pike, Aonung allowed them to hook up occasionally.

For the rest of that year, it seemed to work. But when the Sullys arrived, Rotxo was back to his antics again.

This time, Aonung was quick to catch on, and warn him, but he didn't listen.

Pike- The rest of us all knew the only way he'd ever tame Rotxo would be to give himself up. We just never thought he'd actually do it again.
