He goes over to the staircase, nervously making his way up. Speaking to Ronal did ease his nerves, but the closer he gets to the top of the stairs, the more his heart begins to race again.Once he reaches the top, he steps onto the familiar soft rug, and walks up to the second door on the left. He's surprised he remembered it, since he's only been up to Aonung's room once before. Which was months ago.
He takes a quick breath, then gently knocks thrice on the door.
There's no response at first, so he knocks again, and finally hears Aonung yell at him from inside.
Aonung- Fuck off, Neteyam!
Neteyam- How'd you know it was me?
Aonung- You're the only one who knocks! Weirdo.
Neteyam- So I should just barge in then.
Aonung- Don't you dare open that door.
He holds back the urge to just let himself in, out of the little bit of respect he's willing to give him right now.
Neteyam- Then talk to me.
He doesn't get a response, which makes him roll his eyes.
Neteyam- Aonung, seriously. I just wanna make sure you're okay.
Aonung- I'm alive. Now go home.
Neteyam- Duh you're alive, but that doesn't mean you're doing well. Open the door.
Aonung- No. Just leave already, damn. I liked it better when you pretended not to care.
Neteyam- Well I didn't, so I'm not leaving.
When Aonung doesn't respond to him, he leans on his side against the door, running his fingers along the knob, but not opening it. Being rejected so harshly, after all that time as his priority, angers Neteyam more than anything.
Neteyam- Why are you pushing me away?
Aonung- I don't know, genius. Maybe it's because I want you to leave.
Neteyam- You don't want that.
He gains no response, and is left to think. Out on the field of battle, he'd often end up dealing with soldiers that would say many things they didn't mean, because they were scared. This situation doesn't seem too different. He knows Rotxo has a hold on Aonung, and that hold is secured by fear.
Neteyam- I know you're scared, but don't let that fear control you like this.
Aonung- What the hell are you talking about?
Neteyam- Don't play dumb with me. I know Rotxo is the source of it . . . And I'm sorry for leaving you.
Silence answers him yet again, and he stands off the door.
Neteyam- But he's not here right now.
He stares down at the doorknob, still letting his hand linger on it.
Neteyam- It's just me, your ally.
Aonung- Neteyam-
Neteyam- You can push me away all you want, but I'm not going anywhere. And I don't care if you start to hate me, I still won't leave you again.
He wraps his fingers around the doorknob.
Neteyam- I won't let him hurt you . . . We're allies. We'll fight this battle together whether you like it or no-
The knob is abruptly snatched from his hand, pulling him forward a bit as the door opens. The sudden pressure of Aonung's lips on his pushes him back, and he could swear he heard the boy moan softly from contact. He inhales sharply through his nose, a small gasp from shock, but welcomes the desperate kiss.
His hands grasp at the marine boy's face, pulling him closer as Aonung pulls him into the room, not daring to break away from him.
Once the door slams closed, Tsireya slowly steps back into her room. She had heard Neteyam's voice faintly through her music, and decided to go greet him. But the moment she opened her door and looked towards him, Aonung suddenly came out rushing their mouths together.
All of a sudden it makes sense to her. Aonung's chipper mood, and hogging behavior around Neteyam before. And now, with Aonung back together with Rotxo, and the growing distance between them.
But what she doesn't understand is, with him being so into Neteyam, why he would bother going back to Rotxo.
