Yonohan dismisses himself to the living room to relax and finish his tea, leaving his grandchildren be.Needless to say, Aonung is glad the man will finally leave him alone. He hates that he let his influence on him last for so long. All he needed to do was stand up for himself and stop letting his doubts win. He often thought he needed a change, to be more like one thing or another, but maybe he was wrong.
At this point, he just wants to be him, be happy, and be with Neteyam, but as his lover crosses his mind, his chest aches.
He's done something terrible, in the midst of his crisis, and fears what'll happen if that something is revealed.
After Neteyam took him home, though he had sobered up, he still freaked out and took his relationship a step further, telling the boy he loved him. It's most definitely true, but at the time he had only said it out of fear, as if Neteyam already knew what he had done.
It was a desperate attempt to keep him closer so that if he ever pulled away, he wouldn't go far.
He never wanted to lie to Neteyam, ever, for obvious reasons. Plus, he never had a reason to not be honest, as Neteyam always is with him. But recently he's figured out that he lies to the boy almost pathologically, and Neteyam made how he felt about that very clear.
All he wanted to do from that point on is just say the truth, and be honest about whatever the boy would ask, and after he decided to no longer let his nightmare of a grandfather hold anything over him anymore, that's exactly what he did.
Until he remembered that there was something he had done that was, in his mind, worth keeping secret. One of those "What he doesn't know won't hurt him" situations.
He isn't sure if he regrets doing what he did more, or keeping it a secret. If Neteyam finds out, though, it won't matter which part he regrets, because he'll be paying for all of it.
His sister draws him out of his thoughts with a hand on his arm.
Tsireya- Have you eaten?
Aonung- Uh, no. You?
Tsireya- No.
She steps back with her hands clasped behind her, looking up at him with begging eyes while her tail sways.
Aonung- You want me to cook, don't you.
Tsireya- Yes please.
Aonung- Is Rain home?
Tsireya- No. She kept crying when mother would leave the room, so she took her with, to spare me.
Aonung- Alright. What do you want?
As they head into the kitchen together, Tsireya hums in thought.
Tsireya- Chocolate waffles.
Aonung- Seriously?
Tsireya- What? I'm tired of eggs.
He rolls his eyes as he starts pulling out the ingredients and materials he'll need to fulfill his sister's childish breakfast wish.
Aonung- You're lucky I've just had the urge to cook today.
Tsireya- (giggles) You should add sprinkles.
Aonung- What?
Tsireya- Hey, it's a celebratory breakfast.
Aonung- What exactly are we celebrating? I was only gone for one night, I've done that a million times.
Tsireya- We're celebrating you, telling off our grandfather. You always just let things happen to you, but this time you stood up for yourself. That's worth celebrating, don't you think?
He smiles softly as he starts pouring ingredients into a large bowl.
Aonung- Fine, I'll add sprinkles.
Tsireya- Yay!
She bounces lightly, then goes to the cabinet filled with decorative things for baking and starts looking through various sprinkles.
Tsireya- I wish Neteyam was here, he'd be proud of you.
His arm stops abruptly in the middle of mixing while Tsireya walks over to him with a few sprinkle choices. The mixture of things in his mind shows turmoil on his face, which instantly catches her attention.
Tsireya- What's wrong?
Aonung- . . . I, um . . .
He exhales deeply, completely stopping to run his hands along his face and through his hair in frustration.
Aonung- I'm fuckin' terrified right now.
Tsireya- Of what?
He takes another breath, trying to settle himself, then continues stirring.
Aonung- The consequences of my actions.
Tsireya- Since when is that something you're afraid of?
She speaks in an accusingly playful way, since he'd often do things without caring for consequences or punishment, but the serious look he gives her in response cuts off her humor.
Aonung- I did something really stupid, Reya. Neteyam is gonna full on kill my ass if he finds out. Or kill Yar-Ah shit.
He stops stirring once again to pace, dreading the thought he just put into his mind, while Tsireya starts piecing things together in hers.
Tsireya- Aonung, tell me you didn't do what I think you did.
She gives him an expression of fear, and he looks at her tensely.
Aonung- . . . I wasn't thinking strai-
Tsireya- Oh my gosh! What the hell is wrong with you?
Aonung- At the time, a lot, okay?
Tsireya- No! No, not okay.
He drags himself back over to the counter with a groan to resume his cooking whilst his sister gives him the most disbelieving face.
Tsireya- What the hell, Aonung?
Aonung- Tell me about it.
