(No POV again)
"What does Taylor do for a living?" Karlie reluctantly asked Cara who had just left Taylor sobbing in her bedroom, but something about the blonde made her want to ask these questions. Cara pushed her blonde hair out of her eyes, running her hand back through it. "That's a strange question to randomly ask, she's an author and a songwriter. But Taylor's dream is to be a singer but she's shy and backed out of trying."
Karlie yawned the day had been exhausting, both the girls had agreed that Karlie should stop at the apartment in case they both had to stop Taylor from a relapse. "I'm going to go to bed, will she be okay tonight?"
Cara nodded her head, sighing out loud. "Yeah, she'll be fine. I just can't believe this. Goodnight Kar, thank you for staying tonight."Karlie left and snuck into the box room, Cara offered it her last night but she refused, now it seemed more appealing than the lumpy couch she had the night before. It was next to Taylor's bedroom, she could hear the faint humming of a guitar playing through the thin walls. Followed by the sound of the most beautifulest sound Karlie had ever heard in her whole 22 years. Taylor singing. It was like hearing angels sing.
"I still remember the look on your face, lit through the darkness at one fifty eight. The words that you whispered, for just us to know.
You told me you loved me, so why did you go away.. away.I do recall now, the smell of the rain, fresh on the pavement. I ran off the plane. That July ninth, the beat of your heart it jumps through your shirt I can still feel your arms.
But now I'll go sit on the floor, wearing your clothes. All that I know is, I don't know how to be something you missed.
Never thought we'd have a last kiss.
Never imagined we'd end like this.
Your name, forever the name on my lips..."The beautiful lyrics sung in the next room broke into sobs, Karlie so badly wanted to go into the next room and lay hugging the girl but she couldn't bring herself to intrude.
A knock on the door startles Karlie, who sat up to quickly banging her head on the almost to short ceiling. Karlie answered the door to a pale face blonde, with blotchy red patches under her eye causing her crystal blue eye to look dull. Two arms flung around Karlie, much to her surprise; she would've thought Taylor would've gone to Cara for comfort not someone she barely knew yet. "Can you sleep in my room tonight, just as friends. I can't bare to sleep in an empty bed with only my cats."
Taylor just wanted to be held, Cara had been comforting her all night but the thing with Cara is that she wasn't the calmest of people. Every time she saw a tear flow out of Taylor's eyes she got mad at the girl who broke her best friends heart. "Sure I can. Just a warning though Tay, I snore."
A small laugh came out of the older girls mouth, it was the first time she had laughed in months and on a day like today she needed it. Hearing Taylor laugh caused Karlie's heart to skip a beat, and her stomach to fill with butterflies.
When in Taylor's room, both the girls quickly got under the covers. Without hesitation Karlie placed her arm around the delicate girls body pushing the messy hair out of her eyes with a free hand. Taylor smiled, her eyes glowed she actually felt safe in Karlie's arms. Like she was actually loved.
"You have a beautiful laugh you know Tay, and a beautiful voice. Erm I heard you sing." Karlie whispered just loud enough for Taylor to hear, her cheeks flushing red with the complements she had received. Karlie's heart warmed at the sight, the butterflies return, she was falling for this girl with the broken heart and she didn't know how to play it out next.
A/N - so two updates today, sorry it's short again it's more of a filler for the plot which will be more in place around chapter ten. Hope you enjoy this chapter anyway.
