Ellie stood back and let Cara sit with her friend, Ellie thought she had moved on from Taylor but seeing her once more brought back the feeling she thought were long gone. "Where's Karlie? I thought for sure she'd be here with you, aren't they dating?" Ellie dared herself to ask, not sure whether she'd like the answer or not. Cara had been whispering stories to Taylor, like she used to when her best friend came around to her place sobbing her heart out at a nasty comment her father had said to her. Ellie's comment snapped her out of her own little world, remembering what Karlie had said to her last night she couldn't remember a time Ellie spoke to her like that. "That bitch?! No, she left the same day Taylor told you she was dating again, Taylor saw her last night and well now look. I wish you two had just worked things out, now it's too late."
Ellie sat beside Cara, looking at her ex wondering where it all went wrong she thought leaving would be a good thing but now Taylor was hooked up to a machine helping her breath. "We don't know it's too late, Taylor's always been a fighter. You know that better than anyone else."
A doctor followed by two police officers entered the room, causing silence and raised eyebrows at one another. The doctor started checking Taylor's ob's quietly in the corner of the room. "What's going on?" Cara spoke up, she knew why the doctor was there but not why the police were. "Miss Delevingne am I correct?" One officer asked, hands on his hips giving Cara the dead eye. Cara nodded slowly not liking where this was going. "May I ask does Miss Swift have an habit of doing this sort of thing? I've already spoken to Miss Goulding about this, I am just wanting to elaborate."
Cara didn't understand, she had known Taylor for a long time and not once had she done anything like this. Alcohol induced or not. "Look if you're saying what I think you're saying Taylor was not suicidal! We have known each other a long time and I know her like no one else, she wouldn't have done this on purpose." The more Cara spoke about it the more it became clear she was trying to convince herself that Taylor hadn't tried to kill herself, even though the evidence was quite clearly there. "Okay. I just have one more question. Do either of you recognise this?" The officer asked point to a phone in a clear bag that his colleague was holding up. It was an iPhone that seemed to be smashed up, with stickers all over the back cover.
Ellie nodded as did Cara, it was Taylor's. "Where did you find that?" Ellie spoke up shocked at this entire situation, she had left album promo to be by Taylor's bedside but she never imagined it would be for this. "We found it on the bridge near where Miss Swift was found. Anyway we have to report back to the station, we will be back if she wakes up. We need to take a statement from her, we suspect she was drink driving doctors found alcohol in her system."
"Shit." Cara muttered to herself putting her head in her hands when the officers left followed by the doctor. Ellie placed her hand on Cara's lap not sure on what to really do, she shouldn't be here it wasn't her place anymore despite loving Taylor. "Was she drunk Cara? You may as well tell me it's obvious you saw her last night."
"Truthfully. Yes she was pissed, she could barely stand and I said some really mean things to her El, I didn't stop her from getting in the car! This is all my fault." Cara broke down crying, in all the time Ellie knew Cara she had never seen her cry. "Hey shush it's okay, it's not your fault Taylor's stubborn at the best of times worse when she's had a drink. I promise she'll get out of this."
Ellie and Cara had fell asleep, Ellie resting her head on Cara's lap like they had never fallen out in the first place. Karlie had heard from Hayley what had happened and rushed down to the hospital, telling the doctors she was family she was escorted to Taylor's room. Karlie was shocked to see Ellie there sleeping on Cara, she doesn't deserve to be here! Karlie couldn't help thinking as she made her way over, roughly pushing Ellie in the chest waking her up.
"What the hell?" A croak came from the bleach blonde Brit, her eyes barely opened as she saw a tall figure hovering over her. "Karlie? What the fuck?"
Karlie didn't reply, grabbing Ellie by her hair and dragging her roughly up from Cara's lap which woke her up in the process. "Ow get off me! Karlie, Taylor doesn't need you to fucking rip my hair out!"
Cara laughed at the sight but couldn't help but feel sorry for Ellie, she loved Taylor and Karlie had pissed her off last night so she needed to defend the girl who had stopped with her best friend last night and dropped everything for her. "Let her go!" Karlie stopped for a moment staring at Cara, checking if she was joking. "Karlie I don't want you here if you're going to cause a fight! Ellie's here because she cares now you either let her go or I am getting you kicked out of here!"
Karlie hesitated untangling her hands from Ellie's hair, muttering some form of an apology which was cut out by a beeping which caused all the girls to turn around. Taylor had opened her eyes, the tubes in her mouth were scaring her and it was obvious to the girls has they saw her struggling. "Hey baby don't do that." Karlie spoke up, making Ellie feel sick with jealousy even though she didn't deserve to be jealous. A doctor rushed in, carefully taking the tube out of Taylor's mouth and replacing it with a nose tube making it easier for the blonde. After a few tests the doctor let the girls talk to Taylor, to see if the could get any response out of the girl. Karlie approached Taylor which caused Ellie to stand up and tell everyone she was going to the vending machine. "Baby I'm so glad you're awake."
"Who are you? I want Ellie! Where's my girlfriend?"
