It's been three weeks since Taylor and Karlie's engagement, everything was progressing too fast for Taylor but she didn't mention any of this to her fiancée she wanted to show her family just how appreciative of them she was. Taylor had been home for a week and half now, and Ayla had been her only company beside her physical therapist who came daily to help her progress with her movements. Karlie had to testify against Toni and she had been away since the blonde got home.

"Ayla, can I borrow you for a second please?" Taylor shouted from her piano stool, she was planning a surprise for both her girls and she wanted to give Ayla her surprise first. "Hold on Taylor! I'm just tidying my toys away, you're not hurt are you, do I have to use your phone to call Mommy?" Ayla queried, shouting from the top of the staircase peering down at the blonde.

Taylor chuckled at the four year olds worrying it was one of Karlie's traits being passed on to her daughter, their daughter. "I am fine sweetie, I just want to show you something whenever you're ready okay?"

The little girl rushed to put her toys away, placing her teddies and her cuddly toys back on her bed in the right order; taking pride in her organisational skills thanks to Taylor. Ayla ran down the stairs stumbling over a few steps at the bottom but regaining her posture when she noticed the frown lines appear on Taylor's forehead. "You didn't have to rush honey, I told you I was alright. I wanted to show you this, wait right there by the stairs."

Ayla did what she was told as Taylor picked up the long black box off the top of her piano. The blonde slowly pulled herself up holding onto the piano for support, a smile sown onto her face seeing the amazement in Ayla's green eyes. A few shaky steps later Taylor had made her way to the young girl who was too shocked to speak, the blonde opened the box up showing her the locket necklace that was inside. "This was my Moms she gave it me when I was about your age and when she did she told me to pass it down to my own daughter. Ayla, you are the daughter I never knew I wanted and I love you so much and I am so thankful for you and your mom. This is for you." Taylor spoke, unlocking the clasp and placing it around the small girls neck.

Ayla stood bewildered and shocked for a moment, tightly wrapping a tiny hand around the locket only letting go to embrace Taylor in a warm hug. "I love it so much, thank you Taylor. Thank you for making me and my mom happy."

Taylor nodded in acknowledgement, unable to speak in case the tears in her eyes threatened to spill. "Under no circumstances do you tell your mom when she's home that I can walk, I want to show her myself. Do we have a deal?"

"Here I'll do one better, I'll pinky promise you." Ayla wrapped her small pinky around Taylor's.

Taylor had managed slowly to put Ayla in bed, usually she put herself to bed when her mother was away for Taylor's sake but Taylor didn't want that now she could walk again no matter how unsteady she was. The blonde looked at her watch any moment now her everything would walk through that door and she was looking forward to surprising her just as she did Ayla.

Taylor sat herself at her piano, placing her wheelchair beside the stool keeping up illusion.

"Honey I'm home!" Karlie beckoned, hanging her leather jacket up on the coat stand by the door. "I'm in the living area Kar, I have something for you."

Karlie entered the room smiling at the sight in front of her, seeing her fiancée playing some notes on the piano. "Sit down, I want to play something for you."

Taylor turned the page on the stand in front of her, sighing when she found the right page after losing it for a moment. "Right here we are, this is going to be totally cheesy but I don't care."

You're my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away...

After the song was over Taylor hung her head feeling the blush upon her cheeks as she repeated the same steps she did with Ayla that morning. Supporting herself on the piano as she walked over to Karlie who immediately shot up to help her, guiding her with her hands to the chair she was sat on.

"Baby, how, when did this happen? I'm so proud of you, you've come so far since last week in PT. You're totally right that was cheesy, but I loved it." Karlie sat on the arm of her chair, leaning down to kiss the blonde on the lips.

"It's all down to you and Ayla, you've both given me something to live for." Taylor muttered, not breaking the kiss.

"I love you Karlie Kloss."

Karlie pulled away from the kiss, softly brushing the hair out of Taylor's eyes and placing a loose strand behind her ear. The brunette leaned down and placed her mouth near Taylor's ear, whispering the words the blonde had never realised she wanted to hear when she first met Karlie in a church hall in AA all those months ago.

"I love you too, future Mrs Kloss."
