Karlie felt like shit, the bullet had shattered in her leg on impact and the operation took hours to get all the pieces of shrapnel out. "I really need to get home, that prick Calvin could have my loved ones." The brunette snapped at another agent who refused to let her go until the doctors gave her the all clear.

"Kloss calm down they're in a safe place, they'll be fine." The bald headed man snapped back, he was annoyed he got assigned to babysit her. "I'll rip your throat out if they aren't. This is my four year old daughter and my bipolar girlfriend we are talking about here Flint. Not some stupid witness! They're my family."

"Fine! If you want to go, go but don't blame me when your wound gets infected."

Karlie didn't need to be told twice as she rapidly got herself dressed, wincing in pain every so often which caused Flint to tut at her. "Turn around you perv, I'm trying to get dressed. Seen as Wilson is dead, you're my new partner so don't think you're getting away with not coming with me."

Special Agent Flint grumbled, crossing his arms tightly and raising his eyebrows and muttering under his breath. He didn't want to be a female agents partner but he wasn't going to tell her that.

The brunette stepped in to the apartment complex they used as a safe house, stepping over the broken door. "Fuck, I told you Flint. What the fuck did I say?! If anything happened to my baby and my girlfriend I am going to rip you a new one."

Flint just stared at the mess, not wanting to point out to Karlie that there was blood all over the floor and a bullet in the wall. It looked like someone had been dragged, from the blood pool; neither of the agents noticed the banging from the basement though.

Karlie had finally noticed the blood, her stomach churned the bile threatening to rise up her throat. "I should've never left, I should've taken them with me. I'm going to kill that bastard! What if they're dead Mark? What am I going to do?"

Mark was stood inspecting the mess, tracing the bullet hole in the wall pulling white gloves on his hands, he was shocked at Karlie calling him by his name rather than his surname so he didn't respond. Until he heard the banging and the whimpers.

"Kloss, can you hear that?"

Karlie turned her head to the direction of her partner, slowing her heavy breathing down so she could listen more carefully.

There it was again a bang followed by a small whimper.

"Who's there?!" Karlie shouted loudly, placing her hand on the gun that rested at her hip.

"MOMMY IS THAT YOU?" the voice shouted. Relief hit Karlie instantly, Ayla was alive and well. "Ayla. Where are you baby?"

"IN THE BASEMENT! MOMMY COME QUICK, TAYLOR'S BLEEDING AND I CAN'T GET HER TO WAKE UP."

Taylor, shit. What did that bastard do?

"I'm coming hold tight, I'm going to find a first aid kit."

(-)

Taylor had been shot, she had managed to hide Ayla in the basement before the man realised what was unfolding in front of him.

"Taylor, please wake up. Mommy is here and she's going to help us I promise. But I need you to wake up, you're like my second Mommy and I need you. I don't know what he did to you but Mommy is going to save you, when you wake up I will never misbehave again. I will eat my food, I will get ready when I'm told, I won't ask you or Mommy for anything ever again. I love you Taylor. Why did you have to save me instead of saving yourself? That was stupid." Ayla muttered to herself, not knowing that Taylor was hearing every word.

'Please God, don't let me die. I need to be strong for this little girl and my beautiful girlfriend.'

- ok, so this was kind of rushed. I didn't want to post this until it was finished, but I feel like I haven't updated in a while. I've been having second thoughts about writing these fics anyway so it's hard for me to even enjoy writing anymore too so that's another hurdle.-
