Chapter 24
I walked out of my room into the main area of the Hera cabin. Alisa and Raven ran up to me, and I looked around for Caleb. Suddenly he jumped out from behind a pillar, making me pee my pants, just kidding. I almost did though. Alisa immediately started complaining. (The real Alisa was laying right next to me as I wrote this XD)
"Most of the Aphrodite cabin don't want to work on our chariot, and Tantalus refuses to let us forfeit from the race! Silena tried to get the other girls and guys to work, but none of them moved an inch, well Drew did, to get her pink nail polish but that's beside the point. I really need your help! They want to win, but they also don't want to work for it." She threw her hands up in the air dramatically and I laughed. We started to head towards the Aphrodite cabin.
"The races are tomorrow, so you guys can assign the two people doing it, and they can just ride a normal chariot." We reached the cabin, and Alisa stuck her head in. After she stood there for a little bit, I shoved her aside, and glanced inside quickly enough to see what had made her freeze up. I turned to the others, but Caleb was already walking around to the side of the cabin. Alisa was right behind him, so I ran to catch up. As we rounded the corner to the back of the cabin, I stifled a laugh. It looked as if there was half of a chariot attached to a pink, sparkly, monstrosity. The guys were all working on one half of the chariot, and it actually looked good. Almost like a chariot worthy of a goddess. Pink and gold metallic paint was alternating on the edges and where any visible lines were, while the rest was pearly white. One of the Aphrodite girls, Drew I think, was ordering the girls around on their half. Telling them to and more sparkles in spots, and yelling at one of the younger girls. I glanced at Caleb, and his eyes were wide and terrified. I glanced at Alisa also, before grabbing Caleb's arm and creeping backwards before we were called to help. Alisa glanced back at us, and darted past us and away from the chariot.
"Catherine Granger?" I froze, and slowly turned around to see a tall, slightly overweight girl with really curly blond hair pulled back in a ponytail. "Are you Catherine Granger? I mean Connor told me that you would be with Caleb, Raven, or an Aphrodite girl, so I assumed that you were, 'cause you are with Caleb and this girl." Alisa looked really offended when the new girl just acted like she was a random girl, and practically ignored her. "Anyway, I'm Hailey, daughter of Hypnos, though I'm stuck in the Hermes cabin like Raven. I got here last night, and bam, I was claimed almost immediately." I glanced at Caleb during that one. A shadow passed over his face, and he was scowling.
"That's nice Hailey. Why did Connor want to talk to me?" I attempted to take the subject away from claiming.
"Oh!" He face brightened up even more than it already was. "He wanted to let you know that if you are free, take some of your friends to do border patrol."
"Let him know that I will get Caleb-"She cut me off.
"Raven, and any other of your close friends to do patrol with you?" I nodded hastily, and sent her off. Then I threw my arms over Alisa and Caleb's shoulders.
"Okay, Bestie and Bae, let us find some friends." And we walked off.

I am doing a giant update, because... *Drumrolllllllllll* ITS ALMOST MY SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY!!!! At least it will be when I update. The day after the summer solstice people! My sweet sixteen will probably just be me and my best friend Alisa chilling for the weekend, sleeping over at my house, then her house the next day, and so on until we get bored with each other (which won't happen XD) or one of us has to leave. I don't feel even remotely like I am sixteen... :/
*BAM* wut
