Bet yall wanted to kill me XD
Chapter 41
I opened my eyes to see black cloth obscuring my vision. When I pulled my head back, I realized that my hands were clinging to the cloth, and that the cloth was actually a black t-shirt that was on a boy who was sleeping next to me. His arms were wrapped around me, and his head rested on half of my pillow. The room was still dark as I tried to look around. His grip around me was like a vice, and I realized this was the taller of the two boys. I screamed when I realized this. His eyes snapped open, and they stared, obsidian black, down at me. He pulled me closer, and stroked my hair.
"Shh, it was just a nightmare. You will be fine. Nothing will hurt you as long as I am here Cat." He whispered it to me, apparently not realizing that I was awake. Something in his voice sounded familiar. It was soothing in a way, reminding me of all the times my friends and I would stay up in the demigod dorms, laughing and generally having a good time. Had it just been a nightmare? It had felt so real though.
I could hear the creak of the building as the wind whistled through the boards. Slowly the room started to brighten up as the sun rose in the sky. I stared at the mask the boy wore, wondering who he was. My hand slowly crept up his chest to his face. Just as my fingers brushed the side of his face, his eyes opened again, and his mouth formed a smile. He stared down at me as I stared up at him. Silence hung in the air as we just stared. My hand rested on the side of his face, and he smell almost like freshly baked bread and melted butter.
"You're awake." His voice was smooth, as if he had not just woken up from a long night. "I hope this is fine. You must have had a nightmare. You were screaming, and you would not stop until I came to you. Every time I tried to leave, you would start screaming." I shook my head. He started to leave, the air around me turned cold, and panic seized me.
"No," My voice came out thin, and my throat hurt. "Please do not leave me." He resettled, and pulled me to him. I started to calm down, and fatigue took me. I fell half-asleep, only dimly aware of the boy's presence next to me. I must have fallen back asleep, because the next time I opened my eyes the room was rather bright. I snapped my eyelids closed again.
"Dude, wake up. You should not be with her." I vaguely could tell that it was the shorter boy talking.
"I cannot leave. Every time I try to, she makes this sound, almost as if she would break without me, and it-"The tall boy was cut off.
"It breaks your heart. You have told me several times dude. But you have to."
"You do not get it. Cat-"And he was cut off again.
"And you share a bond that I will not understand. How 'bout you shut up. She may figure out who you are."
"You have got a point there. Fine." They ceased to talked, and I could tell the two had reached a grudging agreement. The cold and panic surrounded me again as he climbed out of my bed. I could hear the shower in the small bathroom we had having had been turned on, and five minutes later it was off, and the door opened and closed. I opened my eyes to see that the boys had left the room. Their belongings sat where they had left them, and all the lights were off, and the curtains were drawn as well. I slowly got up, and made the bed before gathering my towels and headed to the bathroom. All of the surfaces were made of marble, but most were covered in dirt. The shower and the sink bowl were the only surfaces semi-clean. Once I was done, I wrapped my body in my bigger towel, and twisted my smaller towel in my hair.
Once I was dry enough to not leave water everywhere, I left the bathroom and approached my bag. I pulled several outfits out, including a bright mint green sundress, an emerald green t-shirt and skinny jeans, and then a black hoodie and skinny jeans. I must have felt as if the world needed some sunshine, because I threw the sundress on and white converse. Once I was fully dressed, and my hair dried into luscious curls, I skipped down to the main room. The boys in cloaks were down there at a table in the corner, and several other witches and wizards were in the pub, all dressed in dark colors. There was a tall redheaded boy sitting at the bar chatting with Tom. As I ran down the steps, the cloaked boys turned towards me. People were all silent as they read Daily Prophets, and I headed to the bar to talk to Tom.
The boy he was talking to turned around to see me, and his face looked vaguely familiar. "Catherine Granger?" I nodded, "I am Bill Weasley. When you were born, I was named your godfather, and if anything was to happen to your parents, you were to be entrusted to my care. Do you understand why I am here?" I shook my head. "You are coming to live with my wife and I until you head to Hogwarts. In addition, I should probably mention that adoption forms have been filled out, and your last name is now Weasley."
