Chapter 45

There were trees all around me, some had pineapples, some pears, some bananas, and some-do strawberries even grow on trees?  I don't think grapes grow on trees either, but here were strawberries and grapes growing on trees just like apples would.  What goes on in my head?  I walked around with no apparent path when suddenly the scene flashed in my eyes.  I saw Cody and the boy from Flourish and Blotts next to me.  Hermione stood in front of me, Harry in front of Cody, and Ron in front of the other boy.  I smiled, and Hermione mirrored me.  I noticed a silver necklace around my neck, and Hermione had a matching necklace.  I noticed that Harry and Ron wore golden dog tags, something you would find in America.  The other boys wore the same, except silver.  Cody and the other boy turned to give me a dirty look.  I watched helplessly as Hermione, Harry, and Ron faded away.  The other two boys kept walking towards me until they passed right through me.

I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist.  I looked up and saw the same mask and cloak of my guardian.  He smiled down at me, and the whole scene was perfect and peaceful.  Little flowers blossomed around our feet, and birds flew around aimlessly.  Everything seemed like it had come out of a muggle fairytale book.  I could not believe what my mind had created.  It was like a dream you would never want to leave.  But I knew I had to leave it sooner or later.  I squeezed my eyes closed.  When I had opened my eyes, I noticed that I had awoken.  Guardian was just withdrawing himself from me, and I noticed someone knocking on the door.  I snapped my eyes shut and pretended to be sleeping while listening as the door opened.

"Hello, I believe this is the room Jacob Tatlock is staying in"

                "Yes, you believed correctly"

"My daughter, Catherine Weasley, was with him after dinner"

                "So"

"We were wondering if she was in here"

                "She is sleeping"

"Oh, I would like to take her to our room"

                "But-Okay, fine"

                "What's wrong boy"

                "She has been having nightmares"

"Oh, I will try and get a potion for that"

                "Right this way sir"

"Thank you." I felt someone pick me up, probably dad, and I was carried down the hall and several flights of stairs.  Soon I was set down on what I think was my bed.  I risked a peak, and saw dad walking back to his bed.  A clock chimed five somewhere in the distance.  For an hour I tried to sleep, but failing epically.  Eventually, when a clock chimed seven, I gave up on trying to sleep, and got up.  I pulled on a maroon sweater, skinny jeans, and brown combat boots.  Once I was changed, and my hair was washed and in a loose side braid, I quietly crept down the steps to the bar.  I saw a girl with a pink hoodie, a boy with a grey hoodie, a girl with a black hoodie, and another boy with a yellow hoodie sitting at a table together.  There were four more spots at the table, and I ran down as fast as I could.  They all turned when they heard the sound of my boots on the steps.  The two girls and the guy in the grey all got up and ran to meet me at the bottom where we all formed a group hug.

"I'VE MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!"  We were all yelling simutamiously, and I felt three more people join our hug.  I looked around to see Caleb, Zach, and Jacob joining our hug.  I kept yelling, and screaming in joy.  We all heard several footsteps coming from everywhere, and I knew that people were coming to see what the commotion was.  After a few minutes, our voices became hoarse, and we finally sat down.  I called Tom over, and ordered pancakes for all of us.  Then we all ordered a variety of orange juice, apple juice, milk, coffee in Jacob's case, and tea in Zack's case.  Alisa, Raven, Jacob, and Xavier kept giving Zach weird looks.  I almost forgot they have never met him.  Kevin was ignoring me, and I honestly did not care.  I did not notice at first when Alisa asked me how Zach became part of us.

"Well... Alisa and Raven know how Caleb and I went on the quest with Clarisse, but Jacob, Xavier, and Kevin do not.  Well, it started like this.  Caleb and I were chosen by Clarisse to go with her to find the Golden Fleece to save camp.  Caleb and I were fighting a sea monster when he teleported us through shadows or something.  We ended up on Circe's island.  On the island, there were no boys that we could see.  Caleb was left with CC, also known as Circe, and I was put to work like all of the other girls on the island.  The next day Annabeth and Percy came and wreaked havoc.  Turns out Circe was turning boys into Guinea Pigs, and Annabeth had poured something that returned them to their human selves.  I was hiding from the pirates, and Zach must have been one of the Guinea Pigs.  He then stayed with us as we made our way to camp.  So, any more questions?"

"I" Xavier started, "have missed a huge chunk of the school year, so tell me about it"

"Well nothing really happened for a while after you left..." We all shared stories about our summers, well Caleb, Jacob, and I did.  The rest did not say much for some reason.  Kevin said nothing.  Shortly after lunch, we all headed out and bought our school books.  At about three in the afternoon, we came back to the Leaky Cauldron.  When we arrived in Alisa, Raven, Xavier, and Kevin's room, Zach sat down on a bed looking rather downcast.  When he was asked about how he was feeling, he just looked away and sighed.

"When I was in my first year," He started, not meeting anyone's gaze, "Our DADA teacher was Professor Quirell.  I was a Hufflepuff.  That was also Harry Potter's first year.  That summer my family went on a vacation over to the Americas.  I was out kayaking one day, when I got lost from my family.  Then I found Circe's island.  I had no idea I was a demigod back then.  I have not seen them since that day, and they probably think I am dead.  Now I hear everyone in my year then are in their seventh year, and I am the age of a second year..."  I walked over to him and put my arm around him.

"Zach," I softly asked. "Do you remember where you lived?"  He nodded shortly.  "Would you be willing to go there now?"

He looked up. "You would do that for me?"  I nodded, smiling.  "Then yes, I would like to only go with Caleb though. I hope you understand.  It would already be shocking when I tell them I am a demigod and alive."  I nodded again. "Great."  Zach got up and he and Caleb left for his house.  The six of us that remained just made small talk.  Actually five of us did, Kevin left for some reason.  We all were gathering for dinner downstairs when Zach and Caleb returned.  We all sat at the same table, laughing and talking as if we had known each other for ages.  I had not felt this content in a long time.  It almost seemed as if we were in a different world where the war with Voldy was nonexistent.  I wonder if our children will feel like this when they are this age.  Our children.  It was such a nice thought that couldn't possibly exist with us being demigods and wizards.
