Chapter 3
Alex and I ran down to the dining room. Our parents had bacon and scrambled eggs waiting for us. We wolfed down our food and scrambled back up the stairs to retrieve the items necessary for our day. Charm bracelet? Check. Magic backpack? Check. Golden Drachmas, Muggle Money, and Golden Galleons? Check. I slid down the stairs and pulled on my shoes. My parents turned on the car and we were on our way.
About 20ish minutes later we arrived at the Leaky Cauldron. Our parents parked the car and then we went inside. I nodded hello to Tom the bartender and trailed behind my dad. We went into a small brick sided area behind the pub. Dad tapped some of the blocks with his wand and the bricks turned around and around to make an amazing archway. Diagon Alley spread out before us. Alex gasped in amazement.
We walked up the road all the way to the end. A small shop sat worn down over the centuries. A sign hung above the door. Ollivanders; Makers of Fine Wands Since (AN I don't remember the year it is.) My parents walked in with Alex and I trailing behind. An old wooden withered black front counter sat falling apart in front of us. on the walls on either side of us bookshelves sat filled with long thin boxes. The selves continued behind the counter. Somewhere in the maze of shelves someone was walking slowly. The sound got louder and louder. An old man walked out from the maze. He smiled when he saw us.
"I knew you would come Catherine Granger. Alexandra Granger." Alex's expression hardened when he called her that. The man disappeared. Suddenly he was behind us. A thin measuring tape appeared in front of me. It measured me as the man muttered and searched through the boxes. He turned around holding one of the smallest. The box was opened and I was handed a small red-brown wand.
He looked at me with an eyebrow raised and I flourished the wand. There was a flash. When I opened my eyes again the room looked like some one had gone through with a fresh paint job. Ollivander smiled. He began searching for a wand for Alex. She went through several wands. About an hour later she found one that fit her.
"Good, good. Catherine your wand is made of redwood and a pegasus tail clipping. Alexandria yours is made of oak wood with the core of a phoenix feather. That will be 14 galleons for both the wands together." My parents handed him the money and we walked out the door.
We walked into another store and bought our school books. I bought a few others for light reading. Alex looked at me oddly when I told her what they were for. We left the shop. We went to a robes shop and sat there while we got measured. One hour later we started on our way to the potions shop. Several screams sounded. Ollivander was gone. (was gonna stop here but decided to continue longer)
A hellhound burst from Ollivander's store. People were running in panic. Another hellhound shadow traveled right in front of me and Alex. I retrieved my knife. Alex put on her hat and turned invisable. I grasped the handle of my knife firmly then twisted another charm on my bracelet. I disappeared in a flash. The hellhound by Ollivander's howled and burst into golden dust.
Alex appeared and summoned the mist to cover up the mortals' eyes. I summoned wind(read split life of Facebook second chapter to find out how they can do this stuff) to lift me up and over the hellhound in front of me. I landed right on its head. I bucked and flew off landing at the base of its tail. I hung on as I was swung back and forth, and upside down. Again I flew off the tail soaring over its head. I threw my knife right between its eyes. It went cross eyed then burst in the same golden dust as the other one had. I brushed my self off, put away my knife and Alex followed me as if nothing had happened. The mortals thought that too thanks to the mist.
We went and finished our shopping. When we headed home nobody spoke. In fact none of us had spoken since the hellhounds, besides talking to the cashiers. We ate dinner in silence. A week later we went to King's Cross Station and Alex met Hermione, Harry, and Ronald.
