Even as complex issues find their resolution,
There remain lingering matters, defying absolution,
Reflecting on the past, a wave of sorrow engulfs,
Guilt and responsibility, burdens we both uphold.
Longing for a return to the familiar and serene,
Yet questioning the meaning of "normal" we've seen,
Is it right to conform to an arbitrary mold?
To sacrifice our authenticity, stories left untold.
We've endured secrets, hidden beneath our skin,
Suppressing our truth, the pain held within,
I sought your thoughts, your honesty untamed,
But you shrugged it off, leaving my plea unclaimed.
Personal values and beliefs, untouched by my plea,
You find comfort and solace, as you've always been,
How can I alter the course, change the narrative's flow,
When you're content in the world that you know?
So, I'll lay this to rest, cease to dwell any longer,
Resignation settles in, my heart grows stronger,
Yet deep within, the lamentation remains,
Unresolved, unanswered, forever it stains.
