Diamonds in Desolation

Oh, how everything crumbled,
Ruins scattered in every corner,
Devastation, the grand masterpiece,
As the world gracefully descends into chaos,
No need for a saving grace, right?

Oh, look at me, so tired and worn,
Lying on this exquisite concrete ground,
Beholding the majestic spectacle above,
The dazzling moon, a perfect crescent,
A smile that mocks our miseries.

Oh, behold the stars, countless and radiant,
Like precious diamonds, they adorn the darkness,
How dare the heavens flaunt such beauty,
While we struggle and suffer below,
Oh, how amusing it must be for them.

Oh, let's protest, shall we?
Because that will surely change it all,
Make a real difference in this grand tragedy,
Or perhaps, we'll just wallow in our pitiful existence,
Lost in the depths of our own despair.
