I never knew pretending everything's alright could be so tiring,
I never knew concealing someone's mistake could be this painful.
I never knew hiding their faults could transform me into someone I never thought I'd be.
I never knew filling the void in someone's heart could leave me empty.
I never knew it was impossible to avoid hurting anyone.

In reality, the victims turn to dust, while the perpetrators carry on without hesitation.
Isn't that the harsh truth we face?
Believing that sacrificing and shouldering all the burdens would save everyone from agony, disappointment, and grief,
Yet, I ended up hurting them the most, neglecting their feelings, deaf to their opinions, and robbing them of their autonomy.

What I never realized is that I've become wretched, cruel, and selfish.
