I'll Make You Mine | Jeon Jungkook |JK X Reader

Part 7

The two men walked toward the dining room in complete silence.

Halfway there, they passed Mrs. Song.

She smiled warmly.

"Welcome home, Master."

Jungkook immediately bowed politely.

"Hello, Halmeoni."

Her eyes softened instantly.

"You've gotten thinner."

"You should eat more."

Before Jungkook could answer, Mr. Jeon spoke calmly.

"She's one of the household staff."

"You don't have to bow."

Jungkook looked at his father.

"Maybe."

"But when I was growing up..."

"She was the only adult who was actually there for me."

Mrs. Song lowered her eyes awkwardly.

Mr. Jeon simply sighed.

"I'm tired of arguing with you."

"Then don't."

Jungkook smiled faintly.

"You don't tell me how to treat people..."

"And I won't tell you how to run your business."

Without another word...

He walked into the dining room.

The enormous table was already covered with dishes.

Jungkook's eyes widened.

"Wow..."

"Halmeoni..."

"Did you cook all of this?"

She laughed warmly.

"Only your favorites."

A genuine smile spread across Jungkook's face.

The first real smile he'd shown since entering the mansion.

Mr. Jeon noticed...

But said nothing.

Mrs. Song bowed politely.

"I'll leave you two to eat."

"Enjoy your lunch."

As she turned to leave...

Jungkook smiled at her once more.

"Thank you, Halmeoni."

She smiled back before quietly leaving the room.

For a brief moment...

The mansion didn't feel quite so cold.

Mr. Jeon pulled out his chair.

"Shall we eat?"

He looked across the table.

Jungkook had already started eating.

"...Right."

He picked up his chopsticks with a quiet sigh.

"You still have terrible table manners."

Jungkook didn't even look up.

"You've mentioned that since I was ten."

For a few minutes...

Only the sound of cutlery filled the dining room.

Then Mr. Jeon spoke again.
