Part 65

At Jungkook's Apartment

After dropping Tizu off at her destination, Jungkook and Taehyung returned to their apartment.

The moment Taehyung stepped inside, he stopped in his tracks.

The apartment was almost empty.

Cardboard boxes were scattered everywhere, some already sealed and labeled. Furniture had been moved aside, and the once-familiar living room suddenly felt strangely cold.

Taehyung looked around in disbelief.

"What is all this?"

Jungkook didn't even turn around.

"I have to leave."

Before Taehyung could ask anything else, Mr. Do walked out of the study carrying a stack of documents.

"These are the documents," he said, handing them to Jungkook. "But I want you to think carefully before you sign anything."

Jungkook took them without hesitation.

"I've already thought about it, Mr. Do."

He sat down, quickly went through the papers, and signed each document.

Then he handed everything back to Mr. Do.

"Here. Give them to him. Now I'm free."

He stood up and walked toward his bedroom to check whether everything had been packed properly.

Taehyung turned toward Mr. Do, still struggling to understand what was happening.

"What is all this?"

Mr. Do sighed.

"Mr. Jeon said that if Jungkook marries Miss Lee, he'll have no claim to any of his father's property, investments, shares, or other assets."

Taehyung's eyes widened.

"What? No..."

"Yes. I was there when he—"

Mr. Do stopped himself.

Taehyung immediately turned toward Jungkook.

"I'll talk to him."

Jungkook appeared in the doorway.

His expression hardened.

"Nobody talks to him."

Taehyung fell silent.

"If you go after him, I swear I'll stop talking to you this time."

"But—"

"What's done is done."

Jungkook's voice was calm, but there was pain underneath it.

Taehyung looked around the apartment.

"What about the restaurant? You both worked so hard on it."

Jungkook shook his head.

"It's not his. It's mine. I didn't take any of his shares or investments."

He glanced at Mr. Do.

"I already knew what his intentions were. So, when I decided to start the restaurant, I returned his shares and made sure everything was in my name."

Mr. Do nodded quietly.

Taehyung stared at him.

"You're his heir. You have every right to everything."

"I was trying to tell him the same thing," Mr. Do added softly.

Jungkook looked at both of them.

His voice became rougher.
