Meanwhile, at Jungkook's apartment...
Mr. Do was sitting on the couch. His jacket was still lying on the sofa where he had thrown it the night before. His shirt sleeves were rolled up.
This was the first time he had ever seen Jungkook shut himself away like this since joining him.
He had been waiting for him to come out.
But he never did.
He had tried calling him several times since morning, but his phone was switched off.
Mr. Do stood up and was about to knock on the bedroom door once again...
Ding... Ding...
The doorbell rang.
"Who could that be?" he wondered.
He walked over and opened the door.
"Mr. Kim... you?"
"Ji-han, not again."
Taehyung walked inside with a faint smile.
"What are you doing here?"
"Checking on him, obviously."
"He hasn't unlocked his door since last night."
"Is he alright?"
"Kind of... He played video games for a while and watched a few movies."
"Did you try calling him?"
"He turned his phone off."
Taehyung took out his phone and dialed Jungkook's number.
The call was on speaker.
Ring... Ring...
"Looks like he turned it back on."
"Maybe."
"Go knock. Maybe he'll come out now."
Mr. Do walked toward Jungkook's room.
Just as he reached the door...
It opened.
Jungkook stepped out.
He was wearing a loose white T-shirt and pajama pants.
His eyes were fixed on his phone, so he didn't notice Taehyung standing there.
"That idiot called me again."
He lifted his phone to show Mr. Do...
Then froze.
Taehyung was standing right beside him.
"Ji-han, you can leave now. I'll stay."
Mr. Do picked up his jacket and was about to leave.
"Mr. Do, tell him to leave."
"Sir..."
"Mr. Do, I'll fire you."
Taehyung chuckled.
"Ji-han, I need an assistant. Who could be better than you?"
He winked.
"Sir..."
"Leave," Taehyung whispered.
Mr. Do immediately slipped out before Jungkook could say another word.
The door closed behind him.
"How are you now?" Taehyung asked.
"Why do you care?" Jungkook replied coldly.
"We're friends."
