Later That Night
The doorbell rang.
"There he is," Jungkook muttered.
He walked over and opened the door.
"Not again?" he said the moment it opened.
"Hi."
Taehyung walked in with a bright smile.
Jungkook paused for a second.
It had been days since he'd seen him smile like that.
"How was your day?" he asked.
"Good."
Taehyung's smile widened.
"Actually... better than good."
"I even have good news for you."
"Really?"
Jungkook looked at him curiously.
"Y/N is completely fine now."
"She's walking..."
He chuckled.
"No, she's practically running."
"And..."
"She's smiling again."
For a brief moment...
Jungkook's eyes softened.
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
"I'm glad."
He truly meant it.
Even if...
He wasn't the reason behind her smile anymore.
"That's not all."
Taehyung lifted the paper bags in his hands.
"I brought dinner."
"Let's celebrate tonight."
Jungkook smiled.
"Then I have something for you too."
He walked into the kitchen and returned with a bottle of wine.
Taehyung stared at it.
"I thought you threw away all the alcohol."
"I did."
Jungkook placed the bottle in his hands.
"This one's for you."
"Enjoy."
Taehyung looked at him in surprise before smiling warmly.
"Thanks."
"I actually needed this."
The two of them quietly arranged the food on the table.
They ate together, talking about random things for the first time in days.
After dinner...
Taehyung uncorked the wine and poured two glasses.
He handed one to Jungkook.
Jungkook shook his head.
"No, thanks."
"I bought it for you."
"You enjoy it."
With that...
He quietly walked back to his room.
Taehyung watched him disappear before taking his own glass to the balcony.
A cool breeze brushed against his face.
