Later That Night
The doorbell rang.
Jungkook had just finished his workout.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead with a towel, he walked over and opened the door.
"Hey."
Taehyung greeted him casually before stepping inside.
"Wait."
Jungkook's voice stopped him.
Taehyung turned around.
"Yeah?"
Jungkook folded his arms.
"Where were you yesterday?"
"You didn't come home..."
"And you didn't answer any of my calls."
Taehyung scratched the back of his neck.
"I stayed at my house."
Jungkook looked at him, confused.
"Why?"
Taehyung smirked.
"I figured you two deserved some privacy."
For a second...
Jungkook simply stared at him.
Then a shy smile spread across his face.
"...Thanks."
Taehyung chuckled.
"So..."
"How was last night?"
Jungkook tried to keep a straight face.
"It was..."
He smiled without realizing it.
"...Awesome."
Taehyung laughed.
"I can already tell."
"What?"
"You're smiling like an idiot."
Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"Shut up."
"I'm happy for you."
Taehyung smiled sincerely.
"I really am."
There was a brief silence before Jungkook spoke again.
"You must be tired."
"Go change."
"I'll make something for us to eat."
He started walking toward the kitchen.
"Wait."
Taehyung stopped him.
"I'll help."
"Just give me five minutes to change."
Jungkook nodded.
"Alright."
A few minutes later...
Taehyung returned wearing a comfortable pair of pajamas.
The two of them stood side by side in the kitchen.
Jungkook chopped the vegetables while Taehyung prepared the meat.
Between cooking...
They talked.
About life.
The conversation flowed naturally, just like it always had.
