Later That Night
Y/N was in the washroom when someone knocked on the door.
Thinking it was her father, she answered without a second thought.
"Coming, Appa!"
"It's me, baby," Jungkook replied from outside.
The moment she heard his voice, the heaviness in her heart eased.
"Y-You came..."
"Can you open the door?" he asked with a chuckle. "Talking through the door feels awkward."
She smiled faintly.
"Okay."
She unlocked the door.
As soon as he stepped inside, he gently wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer.
"I finished everything earlier than expected," he said with a cute smile. "Mr. Do gave me a hand."
Y/N looked into his eyes.
"Jungkook... I was thinking..."
Before she could continue, he interrupted softly.
"I know."
She blinked.
"Whenever you start overthinking... you start pushing me away."
She lowered her eyes.
"But..."
He gently took both of her hands in his.
"Don't worry. We won't get married until my father accepts us." He smiled confidently.
Although deep inside, he knew convincing his father wouldn't be easy.
The man was too stubborn.
"You're not lying... right?" she asked quietly.
Jungkook shook his head.
"Never." He smiled again.
"And in the worst-case scenario... we'll just stay together forever. Who says we have to get married to love each other? I'm not leaving you, and you're not leaving me." He tilted his head playfully.
"But..."
She hesitated before continuing.
"Will your father let me live here? I mean... I'd really like to."
She couldn't help laughing.
"You'll have to ask him yourself."
Jungkook smiled.
Then his expression turned serious.
"Promise me something," he said.
"Anything," she replied.
"Please... don't ever blame yourself for what happened today. My father and I already had problems between us. You aren't the reason. I just... don't know how to explain everything yet."
Y/N slowly nodded.
"I was 15..."
Just then—
"Hey, lovebirds!" Tizu's voice echoed from outside. "Appa's waiting! Hurry up!"
"We're coming!" Jungkook shouted.
Then he sighed dramatically.
"This hippie is such a headache."
Y/N giggled.
"Come on." She reached for his hand. "Let's go."
