Later That Night
The doorbell rang.
Jungkook sighed as he walked toward the entrance.
"Why don't you just use the passcode?" he asked, clearly irritated by his friend's habit.
As Taehyung stepped inside, Jungkook smirked.
"At this rate, I'm going to start charging you rent next month."
Normally, Taehyung would've fired back with a joke.
Tonight...
He simply took off his shoes.
"Y/N's home now," he said quietly.
A relieved smile spread across Jungkook's face.
"That's... really good."
Taehyung wanted to tell him everything.
That Y/N still cared.
But...
It wasn't his place.
Some things were better left unsaid.
"Have you eaten?" Jungkook asked.
"Not yet. Let me change first, then we'll cook."
"I already did."
Taehyung looked at him.
"Dinner's ready."
"I was just waiting for you."
A faint smile appeared on Taehyung's face.
The two of them ate together before quietly returning to their rooms.

Midnight
Unable to sleep, Jungkook stepped onto the balcony.
To his surprise...
Taehyung was already there, leaning against the railing with a mug of coffee.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"You can't sleep either?"
"No."
Taehyung took another sip.
"The coffee's helping."
Jungkook chuckled.
"Looks like I have company now."
"Kind of."
After a brief silence, Taehyung smirked.
"So..."
"You've stopped staring at the moon?"
Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"Not this again."
Taehyung laughed.
"Then who are you thinking about?"
Jungkook looked out at the night sky.
"She's not the moon."
"No?"
He smiled softly.
"She's oxygen."
Taehyung blinked.
"Oxygen?"
"Without her..."
"I can't breathe."
