"Daddy, you're a liar!" Jihye whined as a masked Jaehyun placed her into the big shopping cart at the nearest supermarket.
"What?" Jaehyun gasped playfully starting to push her around in their store carefully
"You said we're going to see Kira, what are we doing in the supermarket?" She asked curiously
"Well if we're going to apologise to her then we should do it right. Now Jihye, look at me" he said, catching her attention as they went from aisle to aisle
"What?" Jihye asked, holding onto the cold trolley
"In the future, when you become a big girl...if you get a boyfriend and he ever hurts your feelings, he better follow the three step process" Jaehyun said and she cocked her head to the side
"What's the three step process?" She asked and Jaehyun smiled
"Step 1, flowers" he said, stopping the cart in-front of the selection of flowers the supermarket had to offer. It was early in the morning, and the petals were in full bloom, colours more vibrant than ever
"These ones!" Jihye said excitedly, pointing to the white tulips
"They're perfect" Jaehyun said happily, placing it into the cart quickly, zooming off to another aisle
"Step 2, chocolate. Because if the flowers don't work, chocolates always will" Jaehyun said strategically, skimming his eyes over the aisle to look for the heart shaped selection boxes of chocolates that were out for valentines day, yet it seemed unlike Kira to want those.
"But what if she doesn't like chocolates" he asked himself
"Who doesn't like chocolates?" Jihye asked smartly and he ruffled the top of her head
"Fair point" he said with a chuckle
"She said she likes snickers!" Jihye said excitedly, helping her dad out as she pointed to the famous snack bar on the bottom shelf
"Anything for you baby?" Jaehyun asked and Jihye looked at him with pleading eyes and he groaned
"If you promise to brush your teeth like five times tonight" he said, setting an ultimatum between them as he strolled them to the coffee machine, pressing the option for a hot chocolate to go
"What's the third step?" Jihye asked, sitting in the backseat, strapped in nicely with the hot chocolate in her hands as Jaehyun started the car, driving safe to make sure she didn't spill the hot beverage.
"Step 3, apologise" Jaehyun breathed out, a little nervously, starting to worry about her reaction.
"Is that the last step?" Jihye asked, fully invested
"Well hopefully she hugs me and we make up but...if not then step 4 is to kneel down and beg for forgiveness" he said jokingly, although at this point he really would go that far
"So my future boyfriend needs to kneel down and beg me for forgiveness?" She asked and Jaehyun chuckled
"Oh baby, he needs to kneel down and beg me for forgiveness if he ever hurts my little girl" he said with a somewhat villainous tone making Jihye chuckle, watching as they pulled into the apartment basement.
"Are you nervous?" Jihye asked with slight surprise as they waited to the elevator to bring them up and Jaehyun smiled sheepishly, flowers in his other hand while he held his daughter's hand
"A little" he smiled, but Jihye didn't understand why he was so scared to see the most forgiving and nicest human being on the planet
"But it's Kira" she reasoned and Jaehyun sighed
"I know" he said anxiously, wondering if his hair would be pulled or if punches would be thrown to his face, because clearly Jihye didn't know that side of her
"Doesn't she love you?" Jihye asked and Jaehyun chuckled, squeezing her hand
"I hope so" Jaehyun said, deciding to ring the doorbell instead of just enter this time like he usually did.
And although it was a full house with all her friends there, thankfully Kira was the one who opened the door to him, eyes puffy and hair messy from last night.
"J-Jaehyun?" She asked, taken back slightly at the man who stood infront of her with a nervous smile. She stood frozen in her spot, heart thumping against her ribcage loudly.
"Hey uh...you busy?" he breathed out, looking at her parted lips
"Daddy I think you should start kneeling" Jihye said nervously tugging his hand at her silence, but before Jaehyun could say anything back, Kira was embracing him in a tight hug
"Hey! He didn't get to step 3 yet!" Jihye exclaimed, worried that the three step process was all messed up now and Jaehyun chuckled, letting go of his daughter's hand to embrace Kira back
"What are you doing here?" She asked into his neck, smelling his cologne that lived rent free in her head
"Well we came to apologise...and we brought flowers...that you're kind of—"
"Oh" Kira said, distancing herself to see a small bouquet of flowers crushed between them
"And we brought chocolate! Your favourite!" Jihye said, jumping to get her attention and Kira immediately kneeled down to give her a hug
"Thank you baby" Kira smiled and Jihye's eyes welled up at her words
"You're the best mommy ever" Jihye said and Kira chuckled
"And I'm sorry" Jihye said softly and Kira nodded
"And I love you" Jihye added, not knowing how to apologise properly under her gaze that seemed unsatisfied
"And?" She teased and Jihye blinked slowly, looking up to her dad and then back to Kira
"And I'm running out of things to say" Jihye said innocently and Kira chuckled, kissing the side of her cheek
"Go inside, Tae and Kai are there" she said, watching her skip off before standing up straight in front of Jaehyun, placing her hand on the door frame.
"I'm sorry" he said quickly, feeling small under her gaze
"And?" She asked, testing the waters
"And I love you, I was an idiot and I don't deserve you at all and—"
"Okay okay, I get it" she chuckled, letting him off easy after all the little notes she had read the night before
"Can I come in?" He asked with a smile and she smirked
"It's uh...one kiss per entry" she shrugged and he rolled his eyes, taking a big step towards her, cupping the sides of her face with his hands.
"I love you...and I really am sorry okay?" Jaehyun said and she nodded. He smashed his lips onto hers making her take a few steps back until they were fully in her apartment.
"Get a fucking room!"
"My eyes!"
