"Well..I wonder who this could be from" Kai said with a small sigh as he started at the big rectangle box that was wrapped with the tacky colours of blue, red and white.

"I'm surprised your parents even send presents" Eunhye said as she picked it up to put it in the kids playroom.

"Well...they did send me that for my wedding gift" she said, pursing her lips at the extravagant flower vase her parents had sent to her, which she carefully planted in the corner of the room where no one would see it.

"I never noticed that was even there" Johnny said, raising his eyebrows

"Yeah, that's the point" she said with a dry chuckle. By now everyone was good friends with each other, having spent the last few years together. And these good friends were now situated in the living room to celebrate the birthday of the youngest boy there.

"Mommy, Jenny won't give me my ipad back" Jihye whined, tugging at the hem of Kira's dress as she prepared the cake in the kitchen, carefully placing the skinny candles around the big one that lit up 5.

Jinhyung was turning 5 today.

"She's 6, she shouldn't even have the ipad..." Kira said with a hum, still focused on the cake

"So does that mean I can take it back?" Jihye asked hopefully and Kira chuckled

"Yes but don't fight with her and make her cry—we're going to cut the cake soon as well so bring them in here" Kira said, giving the girl her own responsibilities as she got older. Jihye ran off to be her mother's helping hand like always.

"Do you have a cork screw?" Haerin asked, popping her head into the kitchen and Kira lightly pointed at the drawers as she took a second to closer her eyes and breathe

"You okay?" Haerin asked, creeping up behind her and Kira nodded slowly

"It's just all...going so fast" she said with a light smile, turning to her friend who was sporting a tiny bump in her belly. She was grateful to have a friend like Haerin that was always there at every milestone in her life, she was even more grateful that she could be there for her's as well.

"And it just sucks that I'm doing it on my own" Kira said with a sad smile on her lips and Haerin pouted, rubbing the side of her arm lightly

"You're not on your own, look at all the people here" Haerin said to comfort her, and even though it didn't work fully, Kira remembered to atleast agree on that front.

She wasn't on her own, she just wished her husband could be by her side right now.

"Hey, the kids are getting hungry, do you want to bring the cake out first?" Kayden asked, entering the kitchen as well and immediately softening his gaze as he saw Kira turn to him with glassy eyes

"Come on kiddo, you got this" he said, wrapping an arm over her shoulder and pulling her into his side

"I know...but he just used to be a baby and now he's like...five" she said, shrugging a little at the fact that her child was growing up too fast and there was literally nothing she could do to stop it

"How do you think I feel? My baby sister's baby is turning five today" Kayden said with a light chuckle and Kira eased up, looking up at him. The guy who was always her safe space since she was a kid, and still was.

"Life goes on, okay? Make the most of it while you can" Kayden said, knowing just how important it was to enjoy these moments of life regardless of how scary and sad it feels to watch it happen

"Yeah, you're right. I need to stop crying before he calls me a crybaby" Kira said with a light laugh and a sniff before blinking her tears away and lighting up the candles as Haerin left to go turn out the lights and get everyone in place

Kayden stood by Kira's side like he always did, walking down with her as she held the cake with burning candles, walking towards her son who's eyes grew even bigger by the second at the sight of it.

"Happy birthday baby" she said with a smile, matching his expression as she laid the cake by the table in front of him

"Thank you" he said politely, his dimples poking out by his cheeks as he resisted every urge to just blow the candles

"You're welcome. Do you want to make a wish?" Kira asked with a smile and he nodded excitedly, his eyes picking up on something behind her that no one else seemed to notice

"Sonneul makyeo, make a wi—"

"Mark, not now!" Yoora hissed, nudging him lightly and making him apologise as a few of them laughed

"Can you tell me your wish? I'll keep it a secret" Kira said, hoping that he wasn't going to ask for a gift that wasn't one that was wrapped in the boxes in his room

"It already came true" he said looking at her excitedly and giggling and she raised her brows

"What is it?" She asked, trying to match his excitement

"Daddy's home" Jinhyung said happily and she chuckled

"You want daddy to come ho—"

"No! Daddy's home!" He said again, standing up to his feet and leaving his birthday cake as he rushed towards the man who had stood at the front of the room, seeing his loved ones gathered around to celebrate his son's birthday

"Daddy!" Jihye shouted happily as well, getting up and running to him, hugging his legs tightly as he picked up the little boy with a big smile on his face

"I missed you guys" Jaehyun hummed, breathing out as he just stood still for a second in the embrace of his children until his eyes finally travelled towards Kira who still seemed stuck in her place. He sent her a comforting smile, one that described every emotion of love, longing and content that was going through his body right now.

"I thought you weren't back until Monday" she said, slowly building up her steps to walk towards him

"They let me off early" he said with a growing smile

"Why didn't you call? I would have picked you—"

"I didn't want to ruin the birthday plans. Anyway, I'm here now" Jaehyun said, setting the kids back down before picking up his own steps and crashing his body into hers for a much needed hug

"Yeah you are" she said, an unexplainable burst of delight in her chest at the fact that her husband was finally back for good.

"I missed you" she mumbled quickly, her hand snaking in his scalp as she pulled him in for a kiss and he smiled into it, knowing just how lucky he was to have the most amazing family to come back to after being gone for so long

"And you got...bigger" she said, her hand immediately reaching for his biceps and he rolled his eyes

"Easy tiger, my mom's here" he said with a playful chuckle, pulling away before turning to the other guests who seemed ecstatic at the fact that he was here

"Before we all hug, can we sing happy birthday for my little guy" He said with a smile, wanting to shift the focus back to the little boy who they were all actually there for until he heard a loud gasp from behind him.

"Guys! Jaehyun's ass isn't flat anymore!"
