"Morning sleepy head!" Jihye shouted happily as Kira rubbed her eyes tiredly, stumbling through the hallway to present herself in the living room.
"Morning" she croaked, looking at Jaehyun who turned his head to smile at her, remembering how peaceful she looked the night before when he found her sleeping with Jihye in her bed, the princess and the frog book lazily held in her grip.
"I didn't realise I fell asleep in Jihye's room" She said and he nodded
"You didn't sleep at all the night before so I understand" he said and she pursed her lips into a thin smile, pulling out the chair of the dining table to sit herself down, pulling her hood up onto her head.
"Any plans today?" Jaehyun asked from the sofa, as he skilfully tied jihye's hair into a ponytail, something he got used to doing as a father.
"Not really, apart from spending time with my favourite person ever!" She gushed playfully from across the room making Jihye giggle
"She's talking about me" the little girl giggled to her father innocently and Jaehyun smiled
"I'm free as well, what do you want to do baby?" He asked
"Kira said she'll take me to the park today" Jihye said, remembering very well what had been promised to her in passing
"Oh yes, do you want to go change?" He asked and she nodded, getting up from the floor
"But can you come as well?" She asked
"You need the both of us? Who's going to make you lunch?" Jaehyun asked
"We can eat outside. You can buy me and Kira a sandwich" She said and he smiled
"You've gotten good at bossing me around lately" he chuckled, booping her nose with his, letting her run off
"Kira, do you wan-"
"Hurry unnie! Go change so we can play in the park!" Jihye cut him off, grabbing the girl's hand and pulling her hand down the hallway with the speed of lightening
He shook his head at his daughters daily burst of energy that managed to prevail no matter what. Jaehyun had readied himself in a jacket, signature cargo pants hanging loosely on his waist as he pushed his hair back to put on a cap, hiding most of his features with a mask and glasses
"Ready?" He asked, watching Jihye pad her feet back out, almost drowning in the puffer jacket he had bought earlier this year for the winter. He bent down to her height to help put on her beanie and gloves, getting her a face mask and one for Kira too.
"This is so roadman core of me like" Kira said, walking back out with a black puffer jacket and sweats, getting Jaehyun's attention at the sudden english accent
"Roadman?" He asked, standing back up to slide on his shoes
"Yeah like, the guys that ride bikes and carry knives" She said casually making him look at her with a blank expression, wondering whether he should cover his daughters ears
"Its a British thing I guess" she said, following him out the door and into the general elevators
"Why do you talk like that?" Jihye asked, pointing out her london accent and Jaehyun laughed at his daughter for being so blunt
"Sorry, I'll keep it to a minimum" she said, switching back to Korean
"Daddy can I have a piggy back ride?" Jihye asked, and without hesitation he took his little girl on his back, noticing that she was growing up quicker than he would hope for these days
"The park isn't too far from your place is it?" She asked, noticing how they were leaving through the main entrance, instead of going to the parking lot.
"No its just a 20 minute walk" he said making her widen her eyes
"20? And then we're going to keep walking in the park? And walk all the way back? Dude that's like two hours of walking" she whined making him smile
"Daddy can't you carry Kira too?" Jihye asked into his ear loudly making him wince slightly, but he was more than used to it with Mark and Haechan being loud as usual
"She's a big girl, she can walk. Can't you Kira?" He asked, his dimples digging in deeper to his cheek as he saw her playfully glare at Jihye who giggled into his ear
"Can we take a break?" She asked, not understanding why they couldn't just take the subway. But then again, she couldn't really hold it against him since he was an idol with a secret child
"It's just around the corner" Jaehyun chuckled, turning to look at her a few steps back, putting up a childish fight to state that she was tired already
"I would have even drove the car at this point" She grumbled, slowly catching up with them, keeping her pace slower than usual making Jaehyun, who had much longer legs, suffer.
"You have two brother right? I forgot you're the princess" he joked making her scoff
"Wait! You're a princess?! Is that why you're where the queen is from?!" Jihye shouted
"Ah Jihye, my ears!" Jaehyun winced with a laugh
"Daddy she's a princess!" She exclaimed making Kira laugh
"Yeah and your daddy is making a princess walk for ages!" Kira pointed out, and Jaehyun let out an exasperated sigh, running his tongue along the sides of his lips.
"Come on princess" he said. He clutched onto her wrist quickly, catching her off guard before picking up their face, dragging her with them until they reached the park entrance
Kira couldn't help but blush at the sudden contact, not having had many situations where things like this would happen between her and an idol. Slowly but surely, she was starting to forget that side of him, she was even forgetting the fact that he was Jihye's dad sometimes. They days he had just become Jaehyun to her, not the idol, not her boss, just the sweet and somewhat clueless guy who she helped out every so often.
"And we're here!" Jaehyun exclaimed, letting go to Kira's wrist before helping Jihye climb off his back. His eyes immediately widened as she took off running, sprinting almost, to the group of kids who regularly hung out in the middle of the park.
"Jihye be careful!" Jaehyun shouted, sighing as he realised she was too far for his voice to carry over
"She'd be a great olympics runner" Kira said, chuckling as she remembered the innocent memories of doing the same with her siblings in London.
"She takes after me, what can I say?" He chuckled, with playful confidence lacing his words as he turned to look at her
"Oh yeah? Tag, you're it!" She shouted, giving him a slight shove on his arm before sprint off on her two feet
"You're a literal child!" He shouted, scoffing as a chesty laugh took over his lungs
"But I'm not that far off either" he said to himself, jogging, and eventually running, to catch up to her, Jihye watching them two act like the kids her age as she joined her neighbourhood friends to play a game of football.
