Sianan's Pov
I hated being here, absolutely detested the Maze and everyone in it. Thomas was my only friend here and the only person I could really stand. I took in my surroundings and saw the coast was clear. I darted off towards the Maze entrance. This time I was sure I was going to make. I spoke too soon as Gally tackled me yet again.

" C'mon Sianan. You can't keep doing this." Gally told me frustrated.

" I wouldn't have to if you'd just let me go you Shank!" I screamed at him.

He carried me over his shoulder like he usually does each time he catches me and threw me in the pit.

" Maybe you'll finally learn. Sian," He snickered.

" Only my friends call me that and you're no friend of mine," I spat from behind the bars.

Once he was out of sight I smiled to myself and reached into my back pocket and pulled out the keys. Stupid Gally didn't feel me pickpocket the keys off of him. I quietly unlocked the door and once again took off towards the Maze. This time there would be no stopping me. Finally. I stepped foot in and stared in awe at the Maze around me. Now...Where were the Grievers? I wandered around for a while until I heard two voices: Thomas and Minho. I quickly turned around and darted back the way I came. I looked behind me to see if they noticed me but they didn't. I sighed in relief. I turned back around to see a Griever right in front of me. We both stood completely motionless for a few seconds. The Griever moved slightly.

" Hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you," I said to it. I slowly moved my hand towards it. I smiled to myself as it let me touch it. Everyone thinks they are killers, but they aren't. They're just afraid.

" Sianan? What are you doing?! Back up!" Minho yells behind me. I tensed as did the Griever. It moved in front of me as if to protect me. Thomas and Minho charged. I stood shocked as they killed it. I was so furious and upset.

" Sian. Are you okay? Did it hurt you?" Thomas asked me.

I pushed past him and made my way back into the Glade. I saw Gally running towards me with both an angry and confused look. I shoved him out of my way and went into my room. I heard knocks on my door. I didn't want to talk to anyone right now.

"Go away!" I yelled.

The knocking stopped. Good. I didn't want to deal with it. About an hour later I heard banging on my celing. Confused I looked to see what was going on. I jumped back as Thomas landed in my room. Sure enough there was a small hole in my room.

"Sian? What happened back there? Are you okay?" Thomas asked.

" No." I bluntly replied.

" Why?"

" You killed that Griever."

" It was going to hurt you! I had to protect you!"

"No it wasn't. You think they are monsters and killers but they aren't. They're just scared like you guys. Why can't you see that? All you had to do was...."

I was interrupted from my rant with Thomas pressing his lips against mine. We pulled back and stared into each others eyes.

" Thomas?..." I was once again cut off by the sound of shrieking. What was that? Thomas and I both ran outside to see what the commotion was. My eyes widened as I saw the doors weren't closing and the Grievers were making their way into the Glade.
