Minho's Pov
Carter and I were in yet another argument about him being a runner. There was no way I was going to back down.
"C'mon dad! Just let me be a runner! " he argued.
" I told you absolutely not. :
" But dad!"
" No. "
"Please? "
" Carter I told you no. I'm not putting you at risk."
" But mom says I'd make a great runner."
" You would. However, I don't want to come back to hear my only son got shredded by Grievers out in the Maze."
" I'd be with you the whole time Dad, I promise. "
" Promise or no promise you still aren't going out. You step one foot in that Maze and I will not hesitate to have Alby trow you in the slammer for a few days "
" You're impossible. You never let me do anything."
" That's not true and you know it. You should be happy I'm letting you date Lacy."
He rolled his eyes and stormed away. He sure had Emma's quick temper. Why couldn't he see things from my point of view? I'm sure he wouldn't let Lacy go into the Maze if she asked him. He couldn't expect me not to do the same for him. Teens. As much as I loved having a son, I really wanted a little daddy's girl. At least she'd understand me. An idea popped into my head, maybe Emma wanted another kid like I did. I was so excited at having another little baby to snuggle up to. I dashed my way to the Med Jacks hut to see Emma reading some medical book.
" Put down the book,Emma. I need to talk to you about something super important, " I said. Her face twisted in worry.
"What's the matter?"
" Nothing bad babe I promise. I was just thinking."
" About what,"
"How about we try for another baby? Preferably a girl this time."
She looked taken aback after I suggested we have another kid. I waited anxiously for her to answer me.
" Are you sure that's what you really want?"
" Of course Emma. I'd definitely want another baby with you."
" Okay . We can try again. Soon "
I almost jumped for joy and screeched . At least someone was on my team.
" But I think we should wait until Carter is eighteen in a year.," she added.
" That's fine with me babe. As long as we get to try I'm cool with waiting for you."
I was super happy. In about a years time, the Glade would have two more pairs of runing feet to contend with.
