Kalin's Pov
"We're over. " Thomas said to me. I couldn't believe he left me for Teresa. Did he even care about me in the first place? I'm so stupid, I should have never gotten involved with any of these boys. I walked away crying. As I got closer to the homestead I ran into someone.
" Kalin? Are you alright? " Newt asked me.
I shook my head as more tears dreamed down my face.
"What happened? "
" Thomas n-never loved me. N-No one l - loves me." I cried into his shoulder.
" Hey, don't say that."
"Well it's t-true"
" Look at me," He lifted my chin up to make me look him in the eyes, "I love you." After he said that he leaned in and kissed me.
That day was the start of our relationship. We'd been hanging out more for a little over two weeks now. I've been so much happier without Thomas. Speaking of Thomas, he and Teresa broke up two days ago. He said he still loved some other girl. Whatever. Today Newt and I were going to the bonfire that was happening tonight. We walked there hand in hand. I spied Thomas off in the distance. He looked angry. He had a fire in his eyes I hadn't seen before. He was jealous. If he thinks he's going to get me back he's dead wrong. After a little while Thomas walked up to us.
" Hey Kalin, want to come hang out with me? Thomas asked.
" No." I replied to him.
" Look. I want you back. You could do so much better than Newt."
"Last time I checked you dumped me for Teresa. You're right, I could do better than you and that's Newt."
I grabbed Newt's hand and walked off.
" Kalin wait. Now is probably the best time to ask you," He said.
" What is it?" I inquired.
" Will you be my girlfriend? "
I smiled wide. " Definitely."
"I love you."
" I love you too."
