Fifty - Artemis

"Hi Cals" I smiled through the video call. Alyvera was in the background doing some homework and Nathan was in the screen with me. last time I saw him in person he mentioned that he'd gotten Aly Pregnant and wasn't sure what to do. My poor brother was so stressed because he thought he'd disrupted her whole life plans. We'd kept in contact about it and he was so excited once they'd decided to keep it and Aly reassured him.

They still hadn't told our Mama's though, or Alys parents... and it was getting harder to hide it.

"Hi Art! Hi Nathan!" Calisto grinned through the phone as Nathan played with my hair and stroked my skin "we had the ultrasound! I worked overtime so we could afford one of those videos of the ultrasound aswell as a few extra copies of the scan for you!" he expressed excitedly and I could help but smile at his excitement

"That's so cute!"

"I know! We are planning to get one every time we have a scan, I really want to make sure aly and the baby are okay" he shared, and Aly rolled her eyes with her hand on her stomach, making me laugh

"He googled a bit, and now is worried something will happen. He's been working so hard, he deserves a break but won't take holiday" she explained and I frowned.

"You gotta take some breaks, man. It's not healthy" Nate tried to help and Calisto sighed. He was so worried about becoming a teen parent and was trying to do everything he could.

"I know. But I only get so much holiday, and I want to be here for the little one when they get here"

"That's sweet Cals but you have everyone around you- speaking of which, have you told them?" I asked and it was silent "Calisto-"

"No you don't understand! Her parents will break us up... they'll force adoption or abortion. Please Arti" he immediately went on the defense and Aly looked down. I shared a look with Nathan. Shit.

"But our mammas. They'll be alright with it-"

"Its...it's terrifying. Having to tell them? And we're already nearly at the end of the first trimester..." He worried and I sighed. Poor kid.

"That's alright, it is scary, but your mammas have had ten kids, eleven if you include me. I'm sure they know all the tricks. They'd be able to help you guide this, I mean you've been getting some pretty bad symptoms right?" I ask Aly who nods but I saw Calisto's expression turn even more distressed.

"It's alright. We can talk about it more later, Are you going to share the gender?!" Nathan changed the direction of the conversation and I mentally thanked him

"We dont know yet, after the ultrasound we were meant to have another ultrasound but the machine is broken, but whoever it is should be joining us in around August" Aly grinned and we both smiled

"Congratulations! That's amazing!" I smiled and she nodded

"Hey Calis?" Nate spoke "about the holiday, come down here for a bit and work for us. Ill even pay you paternity leave" he offers and Calisto turned his head

"I would really...really love that...but I need to be here for hockey. I hear back about if I'm in soon and I know I can get a good living for the little one..." He smiled semi-anxiously

"Not a problem. Just keep it in mind bud" he smiled. We moved onto other conversations before I saw one of my other brothers names pop up on my screen

"We gotta go, Matty is calling" Nathan smiled and we said goodbye before accepting the other call

"Art, hi. can you hand me to- Nathan!" Matthias asked, before he looked at the screen and cheered my boyfriend's name. I smiled, proud and overwhelmed with happiness about how well he'd integrated with my family after such a short time. Our first call where he met them was two months ago, when he walked into the room. I have regular calls with my family, multiple times a week sometimes, and had forgotten about the call that Matthias said.

"Hi Matty, what're you up to?" I handed Nathan the phone and he thanked me, taking it so he could speak to my brother. Whilst I went to cook dinner, spaghetti and meatballs.

Nathan took a seat in the kitchen, and I listened to the conversation

"I need help with my school project" Matthias spoke and Nathan looked to me

"You might prefer to speak to your sister there, little guy. I didn't get past high school" he admitted to my brother, who groaned frustratedly. I grabbed a drink of water as Nate spoke.

"No! I need you! I have to do some sort of Interview or something, figured you could help" He explained as I made the meatballs.

"What's it on"

"We have to do it on someone who has an interesting job" Nathan laughed

"Your sisters job is more interestin' buddy-"

"Yea, but it isn't really. Your job is more interesting to me"

"Thanks Matthias" I scoffed jokingly and Nathan laughed as he shook his head.

"I'll do it, just text me the questions-"

"Can you give me your phone number then?" He said as if it was obvious he didn't have it "I got a new phone, Amadore accidentally threw mine in a lake. We got it back but the phone was completely wiped" he grumbled, referring to one of the triplets.

The pair exchanged numbers before hanging up, and Nathan smiled at me

"He looks up to you. Probably wants to be a farmer or some shit." I laugh and he nods

"Ain't nothin' wrong with that" he grumbled, his country accent hitting hard as he comes over

"Damn right there isn't, dinner is almost ready, are you staying over tonight?" I asked hopefully, he'd stayed a few times before...I wish he'd stay more but I understand. And I'm not ready to move in straight away. I need to do this the 'proper' way this time.

I'm going to get to know him properly first, before trusting him with my life.

Okay, update days will be changing. You'll still get your monday, but will also get an additional 1 or 2 days a week so keep your eyes peeled!

Just to pre-warn you, the next chapter is insanely long, so that's cool but I'm undecided as to whether to break it up, upload it now (double update ) or post it a different day
