Fifty Seven - Nathaniel

They finally let me in to see Artemis' brothers babies, and my heart melted when I saw my Girlfriend holding one of the little girls hand, but it cracked slightly when i saw how small the babies were. definitely preemies.

Aly was asleep on the bed, as Calisto rubbed her hand and admired her whilst holding the other incubator close to him. Poor kid had been an Absolute wreck the whole day, took everything in me to stop him having more than two panic attacks. Art had said how anxious her brother was but I didn't realise it was that bad.

"Hi" I kissed Artemis's temple first as I went to her. "You okay?" I whispered, watching the small baby who was sleeping.

"Yea-" Art let out a massive yawn "I'm just letting them sleep and then we can head back. I'm so tired" she whispered softly. I wasn't surprised, she'd been awake for over a day.

The baby started fussing and Artemis stood up, rocking her body and shushing the baby so she didn't wake the sleeping couple, but Aly groaned in her sleep and woke up

"I'll take her" she mumbled sleepily, taking the baby and watching it. "You go home..she needs to feed anyway" a yawn escaped her, I looked to Artemis who nodded

"Alright, good job Aly" she mumbled before I picked her up and took her out. She was exhausted.

"You did so well, being there for her" I comment and she nodded as we walked to the

"Promise me you'd never panic like calisto when thats us" she mumbled tiredly in my arms and I laughed, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. god I'm excited for 'when that's us'

"I promise I won't be like him" I reassure her as she falls asleep as soon as she hits the car. I love this woman so fucking much. She's my endgame, there will be no one else. Ever. Not in any life.

I see my future with her, but I'm not going to scare her off yet. I drove to the hotel after turning off the radio. we still had the hotel for another few nights and we would be visiting her family whilst here

I pulled up and carried Artemis inside. She was absolutely exhausted - she hadn't slept at all whilst with Alyvera, and the night before she'd been awake and trying to rearrange the furniture in the hotel room after a nightmare.

Heading inside, I flashed the key card to the receptionist who nodded. I went to the elevator so we could go back to the room and winced at the ding when I pressed the button, hoping it didn't wake her, but luckily the gorgeous woman in my arms stayed sleeping all the way to the bedroom.

"Art, I'm going to get you changed" I whispered to her when she stirred a little, I grabbed her thin pyjamas that would likely end up on the floor anyway and got her dressed - I know she couldn't stand waking up in her clothes, but I also know she didn't like to fall asleep without clothes on in new places.

It was simple enough to change her clothes, and she then fell completely asleep again. I quickly stripped down and put on my sweatpants before crawling in. She instantly snuggled into me, warming to me and holding me tight.
