Sixty Six - Artemis

"A special thank you to Aurelia- where is she? There! Aurie stand up! Without you, my beautiful wife would have probably ran off after spilling her drink with embarrassment and I'd have never seen her again. All of this happened because of you, you star!" Nathaniel grinned as he held up his glass whilst standing up "to many happy years ahead, I love you" he signalled for the end of his speech and a toast as he looked at me whilst saying it before we both took a sip of our grape juice.

There was only one speech left before we could enjoy the food and music, so we looked to Jax - Nate's childhood friend who'd become a such good friend to me too - and nodded to him.

"Im taking that as it's my turn" he stood up and looked around "i wont take long, i can see the bride is excited for the food and I'm sure y'all are too." He got a chuckle from everyone, and a blush from me. I didn't think my hunger was so obvious, Nate pulled out a snack for me and I kissed his cheek before we looked back to Jax.

"I first heard of Artemis when i recieved a phone call from nate on a random Tuesday afternoon, he was absolutely gushing over this girl who had spilled a freezing cold slushy drink over his white shirt on a cold day, dude was full on obsessed"  He gestured to me and I hid my face. The whole room was interested in what he had to say

"Nate was absolutely adorable, he told me he was going to marry you from that first interaction - id told him he was crazy, that he'd scare her off. but here we are, two years later. so many times over the past two years that man has rambled on about how much he loves you, on our boys nights, whenever you leave the room if he's had a bit to drink. I can say with my whole heart thst Nathaniel loved you from the moment he saw you, Art, and if thats not love i dont know what is. " I didn't know that part...he raised his glass "to love at first sight"

The food came through and i sighed in relief, starting to eat and then feeling the twins settle. I noticed Giacomo getting squirmy in his seat from across the room as the food was being served. I was impressed at how him and his siblings handled themselves at the ceremony so I wasn't surprised they were getting antsy. He broke free from Aisleys grip and went running to Nathan.

"Hey little buddy" he pulled Giacomo into his lap as I continued eating. Ainsley sent an apologetic look as she saw her son on Nathan's lap but I sent a reassuring smile as Nate was talking to Giacomo "what's the matter"

"Cosi and Basti are being mean" he grumbled as he watched Nathaniel's plate "they said I wasn't allowed to dance" he pouted and I stifled a laugh. Poor baby

"Don't worry little dude. We'll let you dance with us when everyone is dancing" Nathan cut up his food as he spoke to the child on his lap "but i think your mamma wants you back at the table" he whispered, and Giacomo hesitated before going back to his parents

All this dancing was having it's effect, but I was having fun. Nathan laid his head on my shoulder for comfort as we danced. He'd had a bit much to drink, we'd managed to get me through some intensive therapy and it meant - after a lot of work - I was able to be okay around people who I knew when they got drunk.

"I love you so much" his drunk rambling started as we went to our table and I sat him down. He laid his hand on my bump and had the biggest smile on his face "and our daughters" he hummed before planting a big, dramatic kiss to my stomach and hugging me

"Daughters? You've already decided, hmm?" I smiled as I ruffled his hair as his head rested on me.

"Yes. I want daughters, a little girl like you, with your kind soul and beautiful eyes would be adorable. And if they're both girls it'd be perfect" He sounded like he was daydreaming, and he probably was.

"I'll try my best" I joked and he shook his head

"No no you don't do anything- hi momma E" he grinned as my mamma came along and kissed her hand

"Hi Nathaniel. I see you've been having fun?"

"So much! Your daughter is beautiful I lo-love her, thank you for making her inside you!" he beamed before he gasped stopped and leaned closer to my ma "did you know she's having a baby? Two! It's mine! She's having my babies! I'm gonna be a dad! But shhh don't tell anyone!" he told her his top-secret secret and my ma smiled at him, holding back her laughter

"Congratulations Nathan, it must run in the family" she chuckled "Artemis, I wanted to say you look absolutely beautiful, and thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be your mothers after everything you went through..." She teared up and I got up to hug her. She hugged me back before letting me go "me and your ma are gonna take your siblings back since its getting later" i nodded, thanking her for coming as well as for everything

"Art look! Your brother!" Nathan beamed as he saw my brother, his girlfriend, and their twins. They made it! "The babies!" He drunkenly awed at the two little ones "d'ya think they'll lemme hold 'em?" His accent got stronger as he watched them in awe.

"They'll let me hold them, I think you're a bit too tipsy though" I kissed his cheek.

"You hold them then! hey Cals!!!" He yelled from our table, practically jumping in his seat from excitement as the pair came over. He was always good with kids but since he found out i was pregnant he's been even more amazing.

"Hey you two, congratulations. I was just talking to Aly about how perfect your wedding was-" my brother smiled before one of his daughters, Lucy, reached out for us, half hanging out of Calisto's arms.

"I can take her" I smiled as I looked at the happy baby girl who my now-husband was making baby faces at. Calisto smiled and nodded, handing me the little girl who immediately started babbling at me. "Hey little strawberry." I smiled and she squealed, before repeating to her best abilities.

"Can we have another one?!" Nathan loudly whispered, making everyone around us laugh as I held the little baby

"Let's get these ones done with first yeah?" I suggested and he nodded from his seat before getting up as the song changed

"Come!!" He held my hand and tried to get me to the dance floor, calisto and Aly were cracking up as I handed them their baby. Whilst my back was turned, he had made his way to the dance floor on his own and was waiting for me.

I went over to him and he pulled me into a deep kiss, in full view of everyone, not caring about others opinions. I love this man so much.

"I'm so glad you said yes" he whispered as we slow danced on the floor. "I was so worried you'd say no or that you wanted more time" he kissed my forehead

"I'm so glad you asked me" I smiled "I'm so happy I found you, and I'm glad my life brought me to you" i hugged him as we danced slowly

"Do you think our babies will have my hair or your hair?" He wondered as his hands rested on my stomach and he let out a massive yawn

"I don't know, we'll have to wait and see. Shall we head home?" I suggested and he nodded, so we said our thank yous to everyone before leaving and getting into the car before home.
