"To... uh... to you!"

"To me!"

You raised your shot glass, and the soft clink it made with Taylor's filled your ears. You both downed it within seconds and put it back down on the asphalt.

Taylor and you had been drinking at a pier for the past hour or so, and the ten bottles of Soju you'd bought was now halved. You were both drunk out of your minds, one bottle away from accidentally drowning.

The evening air was cool, the sound of the waves crashing against the pier creating a rhythmic backdrop to your laughter. Taylor swayed slightly, her cheeks flushed, a wide grin spread across her face.

"You know," she slurred, leaning heavily against you, "this... this is the best idea we've ever had."

You laughed, the sound a little too loud, echoing over the water. "Yeah, we're geniuses," you agreed, the world spinning pleasantly around you.

Taylor fumbled with the next bottle of Soju, managing to open it after a few tries. She poured it into your shot glass with exaggerated care, the liquid sloshing over the edges. "To us!" she declared again, her voice filled with a mix of triumph and affection.

"To us!" you echoed, raising your glass shakily.

The next shot burned less than the first few, the alcohol numbing your senses. You could feel the bond between you and Taylor strengthening with each shared drink, each laugh. There was a comfort in her presence, a sense of shared recklessness that made you feel invincible.

As you put your glass down, you noticed the stars starting to twinkle above, the sky a deep navy blanket scattered with shimmering lights. "Hey, look at the stars," you said, pointing upwards.

Taylor squinted, trying to focus. "They're... they're beautiful," she murmured, her voice softening.

You nodded, feeling a sudden swell of emotion. "I'm really glad you're my girlfriend, Taylor."

She looked at you, her eyes glassy but sincere. "Me too," she said, reaching out to squeeze your hand. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of drunken sincerity. For a moment, everything felt perfect. The world was just the two of you, the pier, and the stars.

Then, with a hiccup, Taylor started giggling uncontrollably. "Remember that time we... we tried to sneak into the movies and got caught?" she asked, her laughter infectious.

You joined in, the memory flooding back. "And we pretended we were lost and looking for the bathroom!" you said between laughs.

The laughter carried on the wind, mingling with the sound of the sea. Despite the haze of alcohol, or maybe because of it, you felt more alive than you had in a long time. There was a freedom in this night, a sense of living in the moment that you knew you'd always cherish.

As the last bottle of Soju was emptied, you both leaned back, staring up at the sky, your heads close together. The world was spinning, but it felt like it was spinning in the right direction.

"Let's stay like this forever," Taylor mumbled, her voice drowsy.

"Yeah," you whispered, your eyes closing. "Forever."
