lmfao i'm at school
"So, um," Taylor says into her mic, pausing as she adjusts her dress over the very slight curve of her stomach. "I-I wanted to tell you guys something."
It's been a little over a month since she released her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, and she's performing again on tour.
Ever since you two talked about that one song on the album, things haven't been going as well, but you're sure it'll pass. Sometime.
Despite this, you still go to her shows, you just don't stay in the box, as always. You're usually on the floor, laughing and singing along with fans. They've started to speculate a lot about you since you've been at nearly every show since the start of the US leg.
Since Taylor added The Tortured Poets Department to her setlist, it's been even rougher for both of you. You two had a heated argument before the first show about whether or not she could sing But Daddy I Love Him on the show, but she decided to add it anyway, because she's incredibly proud of it.
Right now, you're sitting in the nosebleeds, a little antsy, until Taylor's piercing blue eyes catch yours, and she smiles apologetically from the stage. She grabs the mic and says, "So, this song..."
She trails off. She fidgets with the creases of her dress and chuckles nervously. "Okay," she says finally. "So, this song... But Daddy I Love Him, became a sort of problem in our house. Not mine and--and Travis' 'cause, um..."
She looks down at her feet. Even you're confused, because she never discussed anything like this with you or Tree. The fans are silent, probably also confused.
Taylor continues despite knowing Tree would kill her after the show. "Travis and my relationship, it's... it's PR."
There's a literal collective gasp from the audience, including you.
What the fuck is she doing?
"And, um," Taylor chuckles lightly. "M-my wife and I, she's in the audience. She... didn't want me to release this song because, um, it sounds like it's about Travis--he's a-a great guy, by the way--and that, if you don't listen to the chorus fully, it sounds like I'm announcing our pregnancy. M-my pregnancy--" She gestures to herself. "--with, with Travis. And then I say, "N-no, I'm not," but... um, the truth is..."
Holy fuck.
She smiles. Her face is tinted with a faint green. "I-I am pregnant--"
She's cut off by the audience erupting in cheers and gasps and screams.
When they've settled down again, Taylor smiles a little weakly. Your heart is swelling with delight from the sheer support and love Taylor is receiving, but also racing. What if this ruins her career? You don't want her giving up her dreams just because you didn't want her putting out a song, which was a very good song.
"Um, but not with Travis' baby..." She fidgets slightly as she looks over at you. "Y/N... will you, um, c-come up here?"
With wide eyes and a pounding heart, you make your way to the stage, shaking a little.
Taylor's face lights up in happiness when she sees you. She helps you beside her and places her hands on your waist, gently pecking your lips, much to the glee of the audience.
"I'm sorry," she whispers as she puts her head in your neck, the mic well away from your voices so the stadium won't hear.
"I-it's okay."
"It's just..."
You gently rub her back. "It's okay, Tay. You don't need to explain."
Taylor pulls away from you, smiling brightly as she returns to the mic. "So, um, this is my wife. Say hi, Y/N."
You chuckle and say a, "hey," into the mic, making the audience cheer.
Taylor goes on to explain your relationship, her pregnancy, everything else. And when she's done, she pulls you in for a bruising kiss before starting to perform But Daddy I Love Her, making you blush and giggle as you return to your spot in the nosebleeds, the fans cheering.
