"Darling?" Taylor calls out as she walks through the front door, slipping her shoes off and sets her keys in the glass bowl you keep on the table in the foyer. The house lights are on, so she's sure you're home. She crouches down and smiles as she pets Meredith, who has come meowing up to her.

"Hi, Fluffy!" she greets happily. "Where's Momma?"

The cat only meows.

"You're no help," Taylor says, feigning anger at her cat as she frowns.

She stands and calls out for you again, "Y/N?"

No answer.

She sighs and makes her way upstairs, rolling her eyes when she finds you sitting on the bed, reading with your back against the headboard and Olivia and Benji gathered around you.

Meredith's meow rings out as she follows her in and jumps up on the bed and onto your lap.

Taylor frowns when she sees you coo and set your book down to pet Meredith, but barely even give her any acknowledgement.

"So you're going to give her more attention than me?" she asks, crossing her arms over her chest

You glance up from petting Meredith, a playful smile tugging at your lips. "Jealous of the cat now, are we?"

Taylor huffs, stepping closer to the bed, her arms still crossed. "I've been working all day, and you've been here, cosy with them. Where's my love?"

You chuckle softly, shifting a bit to make space for her. "Come here, then, Miss Neglected."

Taylor's frown shifts into a smirk, and she climbs onto the bed, settling herself next to you. Olivia and Benji scatter to the other side of the mattress, but Meredith stays firmly planted in your lap.

Taylor pouts. "Even now, I have to compete with her."

"She's needy," you tease, scratching behind Meredith’s ears. "What's your excuse?"

Taylor raises an eyebrow, leaning in closer, her voice dropping just slightly. "Oh, I think you know my excuse."

The way her eyes meet yours sends a shiver down your spine. She brushes a stray strand of hair from your face, her touch lingering on your cheek. "So," she murmurs, "are you going to make it up to me? Or do I have to really remind you who deserves your attention?"

Your breath catches for a moment, and Meredith hops off your lap as if sensing the shift in atmosphere. Taylor smirks at the sudden opening, sliding closer to you, her fingers tracing lightly over your arm. "No interruptions this time," she whispers, then adds, in the ghost of her voice, "Please."
