Chapter 33
Once you put the dough in the oven, all you're doing is waiting. A simple bread takes its time in the hot temperature to fully bake itself. And when it's done, you'll get a good taste outcome.
Jinoh waited for my yes. He takes time—months, as he waits for me patiently. And when I was ready, he finally got the answer he was waiting for... I became her girlfriend.
Days, nights, and years passed, and Jinoh and I were still together, like a sticky dough that was hard to separate. Our relationship became stronger, and we are deeply in love with each other.
We're not a perfect couple. In our 4 years relationship, we also experienced small quarrels.
He always understands me.
We always understand each other.
He showered me with his love and compliments. All my unwanted thoughts vanish whenever he's around. His presence and words were like a shield to protect me from pain.
Palagi.
I'm thankful that I have a boyfriend like him… that I have him in my life.
Jinoh is my medicine—a happy pill.
I chuckled.
I liked how he was honest to me about his feelings. I laughed a little before deciding to leave from hugging his back.
“Lumière,” he read out loud.
I chose that bracelet because of the word, a French word for light. I bought it because Jinoh is my lumière.
“Alam mo ba? S'yempre hindi pa pala… Balak kong magpa-tattoo tapos itong word ang nakasulat,” he said.
