Hyunjin somehow managed not to snap his head to his left. His brain was thinking at supersonic speed.

The mask that was hiding his face stopped him from seeing the person/thing approaching. If you’d listen really well you’d almost be able to hear the wheels turn and the bolts creak inside his head.

He eventually came to the conclusion that it would be best if he pretended to still be asleep, while at the same time he tried to contemplate his choices in the situation.

His mask luckily hid the fact that his eyes were spread wide open, and Hyunjin was very much thankful to God for not letting hearts make sounds, since his was beating rapidly.

He let out a big sigh and turned his head towards the sound, still pretending he was deep asleep. He had his eyes clenched shut since he was actually kinda scared for what his eyes could maybe meet.

He listened really carefully. The previous shuffling had stopped, and the atmosphere was heavy.

Hyunjin heard a soft, shaky sigh. Hyunjin could practically scream in relief, because that must’ve meant that it was a human. But then he remembered the monster he had had an encounter with earlier, and he could practically feel the color drain from his face.

When the shuffling finally picked up again Hyunjin dared to open his eyes, thanking the heavens that he had decided to put on his mask earlier.

His eyes were met with not one, but two humans. He could practically hear his heartbeat pick up as adrenaline got released in his blood.

The two humans also had their masks on, which hindered Hyunjin from seeing their faces too.
They were slightly leaning forward to quiet down their steps, with much success.

Hyunjin was in a quick search for any firearms. He had a police gun in his hand, and a regular revolver in his pocket.

He could shoot them quickly and take them off guard, he had good aim for a reason, but still. He didn’t feel like killing even more people. And it would be an unfair fight, which was completely against his morals.

The what he assumed were two males both held a blade in their gloved hands. But no firearms. Hyunjin quickly eyed their pockets. He had to make a quick decision. The males were now barely three meters apart from him. If they’d want to, they could make a quick jump towards Hyunjin and slit his throat.

Hyunjin let his clothed thumb glide along the smooth metal of the police gun, which was laying beside the right side of his lap, out of the men’s sight.

He made a decision.

Very calmly he moved. He eyed the two men as they froze in their places. He sat up and quickly lifted the gun so none of the two males would do such a stupid thing as suddenly jump him.

“Drop the knives.” He said in a calm but resolute tone. One of the two males stood up straight, almost standing in a sassy position.
“And how are we sure the gun is loaded, hm?” The male spoke with full confidence.

“I don’t know.” Hyunjin said, just as sassy. “Wanna find out?” Hyunjin did a quick math. He had six bullets, and two enemies. He could shoot each one thrice if he’d need to.

He stood up, a little clumsily because his body hadn’t fully woken up yet, with the gun still pointed at the male that was standing straight.

He gave a quick glance towards the other male. He too stood up straight, and he couldn’t help but laugh a little at the height difference of the two.
